Rated 1 out of 5 by from NO NO NO! Bring back the HIPKINI Like many of the other reviewers I have found that the redesigned bikini-style underwear is a terrible fit. Too low in the front and back, too narrow around the hips. Constantly pulling up the back as it rolls down, cuts across the bum, very visible panty lines. Basically a non-functional style of underwear for my body type (hourglass) I tried both the medium and large - neither worked. I've been wearing the Hipkini for years and wish I had known they were discontinuing them so I could have stocked up. I have returned all the underwear I purchased the ones I wore under the IB warranty. Please bring back the hipkini - the bikini can stay too for the ladies who like them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Forget I’m wearing them I have a curvy bum and when I wear bikini underwear, I generally like most of my bum to be covered so I don’t end up getting wedgies and I also like underwear to come up high enough so they don’t creep down. These don’t have great coverage, but somehow They stay put! They barely come high enough to cover my bum and don’t cover my butt cheeks, but no wedgies and they don’t slip down. I forget I’m wearing them which is what you want in underwear! I ordered an L which is what I normally wear in underwear. I tried and XL and that was definitely too big. I would love it if they came about an inch or 2 higher at the top, but I’m still going to get more the way they are.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring back the Hipkini!! I've spent a long time finding the perfect style of underwear. I used to wear these nylon/spandex bikinis that fit me like a dream but they did not breathe at all. When I heard about icebreakers it seemed like the perfect solution. I ordered the hipkini and the hot pants. Hot pants were a no-no, wedgie central in 2 min but the Hopkins - what a dream. I slowly started to replace all my undies with them. And now I find out they're discontinued!! Please bring back the hipkini - they're the amazing holy grail underwear for my pear shaped booty!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hipkini (love) vs Siren (no love) Sorry Icebreaker, I love your products, but like many reviewers, I adored the original Hipkini... have multiple pairs (like, 8) and they are by far my favorite underwear. Unfortunately, they do eventually wear out and I just purchased 3 of the Siren... cut right across my (not particularly large) bumm... presto, panty lines and discomfort. I am adding my voice, Icebreaker, please bring back the Hipkini and rename these something fiesty like the "sprite" for the younger population that might like this skimpier version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hipkini was WAY better! Please bring it back. The Hipkini was the best underwear ever for fit and comfort -- ideal for both sport and everyday wear. The new Bikini, which is supposed to replace it, is not as comfortable or attractive. The only good thing about the new style is that it still uses the same thin, light material -- more comfortable than the thicker fabric used by SmartWool and Ibex. But the new style rides up in the back and needs constant adjustment. The Hipkini always stayed in place. Even on the model in the photos, one can see that the cut of the new style in back is an awkward diagonal across the buttocks instead of fitting a bit lower around the body's natural shape, as the Hipkini did. Keep the Bikini since some people like it, but please bring back the Hipkini for those of us who found it to be the perfect underwear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the softest but still great I find this underwear to vary significantly in softness depending on the particular pattern/design/fabric. These are not as soft as some of the previous iterations I've owned over the years (the striped ones were so soft!), even after washing. Still great, though. These are the only underwear I own now and use them for daily wear, hiking, exercise, and travel. Definitely be aware that these are not full-coverage like they used to be, so if you have a fuller butt you're going to be hanging out all over the place. I also wish they would lengthen the gussets - I would need another two inches for it to do what it's intended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bring back the Hipkini! I have been using icebreaker Hipkinis for years as they are lightweight, breathable and SO comfortable, especially for people with sensitive skin like myself. I recently tried the bikini type as last time i tried to order the hipkinis they were gone! The bikini doesn't compare- tight, not as much butt coverage and i find they just dont sit right. PLEASE bring back the Hipkini! I dont want to have to find somewhere else to buy decent undies!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Styling not comfortable I am very disappointed that the hipkini was discontinued. I have tried the bikini and as many other reviewers have commented it is smaller overall, provides less coverage, has a poor gusset and rides up. As someone who changed all of my underwear to icebreaker from Jockey, I am now forced to find an alternative brand that fits as well as the hipkini. I love the softness and thinness of icebreaker as it dries quickly but won’t be purchasing now due to this change in fit/style.
