Not the softest but still greatI find this underwear to vary significantly in softness depending on the particular pattern/design/fabric. These are not as soft as some of the previous iterations I've owned over the years (the striped ones were so soft!), even after washing. Still great, though. These are the only underwear I own now and use them for daily wear, hiking, exercise, and travel.
Definitely be aware that these are not full-coverage like they used to be, so if you have a fuller butt you're going to be hanging out all over the place. I also wish they would lengthen the gussets - I would need another two inches for it to do what it's intended.

Bring back the Hipkini!I have been using icebreaker Hipkinis for years as they are lightweight, breathable and SO comfortable, especially for people with sensitive skin like myself. I recently tried the bikini type as last time i tried to order the hipkinis they were gone! The bikini doesn't compare- tight, not as much butt coverage and i find they just dont sit right. PLEASE bring back the Hipkini! I dont want to have to find somewhere else to buy decent undies!

If you liked the Hipline, DO NOT BUY THESE!I have 7 pairs of the Hipkini women's briefs, and they are fantastic. They wash and dry quickly, are super-comfortable and last a long time. However, a few pairs are developing holes after several year's of use. I bought a pair of the new Siren Bikinis. Big mistake. They are a otally different cut and are made of cheaper quality fabric. They are higher cut at the waist and along the bottom, resulting in super-wedgie within about a micro-second.
You COULD wear these, as long as you used double-sided tape to hold the edges down, and didn't move a muscle! I am very disappointed.
The Hipkinis were great for those of us who are athletic in build and travel a lot. The new bikinis are good for someone else.
I don't know if this was a mistake in design, or a deliberate attempt to save costs by making the briefs out of less fabric. Whatever the reason, it is a major fail. I will move to another brand.
I have attached some pics of the new Bikinis overlaid on a pair of Hipkinis.

Much prefer the HipkiniI much prefer the hipkini. I don't like skimpy underwear and was so pleased to find the hipkini. Best ever. Please please bring back the hipkini otherwise I will have to find another company that makes decent, good fitting, comfortable underwear. Was planning on buying more hipkinis and disappointed to find they are no longer part of your range.

The hipkini was perfect!I'm not sure why Icebreaker decided to replace the hipkini with the bikini as they seem to be designed for completely different body shapes. I've worn hipkini underwear for years and love them. I'm now scouring remainder bins in all the outdoor clothing shops hoping to find some more before they disappear completely.

It's no HipkiniThe Siren Bikini passes the cute test but unfortunately fails the comfort test. I usually wear XS Icebreaker gear and the Hipkini was perfect for everyday and sport - comfortable with no riding up. Same can't be said for the Siren Bikini. Rides up so much I don't want to wear them. Issue might be fixed with a larger size but XS didn't feel too tight and S may be too loose.

I miss the full coverageI have worn icebreaker underwear daily for years - the new fabric and waistband are amazing, and are supposed to be longer lasting than previously, but the scant butt coverage = wedgies (I wear a small and the medium is baggy, so it's not a size but style issue).
I wish they would bring back the old siren full coverage style with the new fabric.

Bring back the hipkiniI have been wearing the Icebreaker Hipkini almost exclusively since 2009 despite the price because of the comfort & fit. Other merino brands were skimpy and less comfortable. I recently purchased the Siren bikini, and I am extremely disappointed. The sides are narrower, the cut is poor & it seems significantly smaller. Please return the hipkini to the range.
