DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Icebreaker MerinoLOFT

Icebreaker MerinoLOFT
MerinoLOFT is lightweight insulation created from premium, ethically-sourced wool fibers. Ten percent of the loft comes from recycled merino offcuts salvaged from the factory floor, while the jackets’ water repellent shell is made from recycled polyester. MerinoLOFT garments are Icebreaker’s warmest-ever jackets, and are ideal for lightweight layering. Icebreaker is using the latest technology to build the next generation of high performance merino.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Test-drive While shopping in the Gold Coast neighborhood in Chicago recently, my husband and I found the Chicago Touchlab boutique. I was taken aback when Dragana pulled out this feather-light, non-puffy coat for me to try on. After all, I had asked for a coat to keep me warm in arctic-like conditions. Since my budget would've been shattered by test-driving the Bugatti Veyron at the neighborhood dealership, I opted to take the Stratus x merinoloft for a spin, out the door, east 4-5 blocks to the windiest of all places, Lakeshore Drive. It was around 0 degrees, excluding ths wind chill. In case you're wondering, Ian and Dragana held my husband's credit card just in case I didn't return. Wow, I was mystified at how warm this coat kept me and, immediately took this coat for my own! Great coat, great staff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy like a blanket After a lot of research, I decided to try this coat. I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The coat fits true to size. I have to size up one for all icebreaker tops, but this coat fits true to my regular size. I use it for everyday wear in Colorado Winter conditions. It is very good at keeping the drafts out on a cold and blustery day. I drive a truck in Winter conditions, and the 2-way zipper is great so that I can step up ithour being restricted. I highly recommend this coat. I am 5’7”, 127 lbs., slightly curvy, and the Small fits perfect!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too long :( I really wanted to like and keep this coat, but it was way too long on me. I'm 5'7" slender built, the coat came a little above my knees and it was flared out from my hips down. Since I have narrow hips, this look wasn't great on me. The top piece was spot on. I have this jacket in a short version and love it. Wish it was 2-3 inches shorter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great super warm even in -23’C windchil in mi This is the first review I ever wrote. I had a marmot super expensive coat. But it was not enough for mi weather especially in freezing wind and cold as we are living near Lake Michigan.after so much of research, I saw the reviews of the coat. Then tried it on the first day of windchill when feels like temperature of -23’C ,it’s super warm.i just had a thin half hand tee underneath.its worth the buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, warm coat! I found this coat to be a great mid-level option (7-40 degrees F). The length protects my thighs from the windchill and I love that it keeps me warm, but not hot. The wool fill seems to maintain a more regulated temperature than my down jackets. I purchased the size medium, and it fits perfectly. I’m 5’4” and 122 pounds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE Icebreaker jackets I have an Icebreaker jacket from about 8 years ago that I have worn until it's threadbare (and that's not because of lack of quality - it's just this wonderful combination of comfort, flattering style, and warmth that makes me want to wear it every minute of every day). So when the end of winter arrived, I thought I'd look for a replacement, and ordered this one (luckily, on sale!). This matches my expectations - lightweight, flattering, but oh-so-warm. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warmth without the weight or bulk! I love this coat!! I was looking for a down-filled coat for cold snowy conditions, but when I saw this I thought it might be better for me as I am an asthma sufferer (feathers sometimes upset me). This coat is an excellent alternative to down filled coats! It is just as warm and cozy. The fit is perfect, it is comfortable and I get a lot of compliments on how nice it looks on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket I was surprised how lightweight this coat is for being so warm. It is flattering and I love the long length. The wool lining is so soft and comfortable. I'm normally a small in clothes, but like most Icebreaker styles I am a medium in this one, with room to wear a sweater underneath. It's the jacket I've been looking for for years.
