Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Comfy & Easy on/off Our little one was a little unsure of these at first, they are a bit beefier than the little sneakers we have for around town. I was worried that they might have a long break-in since they are much stiffer soles than other shoes we have had in the past. It turns out once we convinced the toddler to put them on they were an instant hit, no break-in issues or blisters! The kid was super comfy and loved wearing "big kid" hiking shoes. They are very easy to get on and off and the kid was able to do it themself, win! Even buying them a little big, we had no issues with fit or comfort, they synched down really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SoCal Runner from Holds up well to destructive kids, great traction [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids destroy the toecaps on every single pair of shoes...usually within just a few times wearing them. Keen is so far the only brand I have found that can withstand the abuse on their toecaps, and these hikers are no exception. They also have great traction--took them on a hike in an area similar to where kids have slipped and fallen in other shoes, and zero loss of footing. Definitely not waterproof, so they got a bit heavy and soggy when the kids jumped in a stream, but that's to be expected. I will definitely buy these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Av from Great hiking shoe for little feet I wanted a supportive shoe for my 3.5-year-old son for when we go on short hikes on the weekends. These fit the bill! He loves his hiking shoes (and can get them on himself) and I love that I can throw them in the washing machine to clean them so they look like new every week. I will echo an earlier review that says that the shoes can cause blisters around the ankles. (My son complained about chafing the first time he wore them.) Since switching to taller hiking socks, we've had no issues with chafing or blistering. I would definitely recommend pairing appropriate socks with these shoes and recommend the Targhee Sport Vent Shoe to those looking for supportive footwear for their active, adventurous little ones!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Second purchase After buying a new pair of shoes for my son every six months because they couldn't hold up to the abuse an outdoorsy 3 year old could throw at them I purchased a pair of Kids Targhees for him. It was the first pair of shoes he actually outgrew before he wore them out. As soon as he need to size up, I bought another pair for him. My only complaint would be that the velcro strap lost some of its holding power after about 8 months of daily use. He still wore them for another 4 months until he outgrew them though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Asackett from Durable and Comfortable It's like Christmas whenever a new pair of Keen's arrives at my house. My son LOVES them! He is rough on shoes and the Targhee's stand up to a very active 5 year old. He thinks they look cool and loves to where then for school and adventures. We just keep sizing up as he grows. And my nephews are always STOKED when they get the hand me downs. Rarely do kids shoes last long enough to get passed along. We have one set that has been through three boys now if that tells you how great they are.

They're iredescent like fish scales, which my kid kind of turned his nose up at, but they get the job done. We still prefer the cnx as they're more sturdy. We will see how these hold up. I have 3 boys and they were out of the Keen cnx size my youngest wears, which is why we got these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Na from Will not buy again My boys wear and love the Keen sandals and the Chandler style shoe. Since I could not longer find the Chandler in larger boy sizes, I gave these a try with high hopes. On both of my boys, unfortunately, these shoes rub around the ankles and cause blisters. I will now be looking for supportive shoes from other brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Casara from Little Kids' Targhee Sport Vent Shoes My 4 year old son wears these shoes and loves them. I wish Keen carried half sizes in kids because he would wear an 11.5 and not an 11, but he loves them anyway. They work well for his sweaty feet and rough play. This is his third pair of Keen shoes and I just ordered him 2-more pairs (size 12).

HOW to MEASURE
1. Place a piece of paper against a wall.

2. Have the little human stand on the paper with their heel against the wall.

3. For both feet mark where the longest toe ends.

4. In centimeters, measure from the edge of the paper to both marks.

5. Use the longest foot measurement and match it up to a KEEN size using the size charts above.
