The KEEN Men's Newport H2 Sandal is a rugged sandal for adventures that move between water and trail with no time for stopping. In the kayak, out of the kayak, walk up a creek and snap a pic of the hidden waterfall, then turn around and get back in the boat. If your warm weather adventures mimic something like this, then the protective rubber toe and outsole will be like heaven on your feet. No bruised toes due to kicking rocks, stay on your feet at the docks with razor-siped soles. The upper is a washable polyester webbing with a hydrophobic mesh lining, so when they need a cleaning from the hustle and bustle of summer, toss 'em in the washer and lay them on the back porch to dry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really Disappointed...Twice I had such high hopes for these sandals! I bought a pair as my portage shoes for the BWCA, and while on the first few I was really pleased. It had all the benefits that a sandal would have it had made sweet, sweet love with a hiking shoe. Sadly, after day three of camping, the tension cord snapped completely. I finished the trip and quickly returned them and just exchanged them for another. I had my second pair for about a year and when it came time to return to the BWCA I was excited to use them for the full trip. Like before the first few days went well but soon I discovered that the rear strap stitching was coming undone. The next day the tension cord snapped on this pair also!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Go anywhere, Do anything This is one of my favorite pairs of shoes/sandals. Obviously very breathable, retain little moisture (what moisture they do holds in the canvas straps dries quickly), lots of support in the arch of the foot (I could and have walked around in them all day and been completely comfortable). One of my favorite things about these sandals is that they are very secure on your foot without strangling it. They don't flop, slide around, and are always up for more. The sole is very grippy, I've used them on the sand dunes of silver lake and hiking along the manistee river of Michigan, they performed very well and I'd choose them again and again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They ROCK A ring of the door bell and I see the man in brown standing before me, he has a package from Moosejaw in his hands. The box looked as if it was delivered by Ace Ventura Pet Dectective. I opened up the package to find the ugly sandals I purchased for my husband, he requested them since he is over seas and needed some type of breathable sandal that was ugly yet comfortable. Personally, I think they look like rafts you would see going down the river;) Anyway, they were shipped overseas and he just sent me the run down on how they perform. He says they are indeed everything they claim to be, breathable and incredibly comfortable. Also, he really got a kick out of your company's catalog.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good and Pretty Comfortable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these shoes to kayak fish in, knowing at times I'd have to get out and wade creeks. The shoes are more comfortable in fit than my Tevas and did NOT require any break in. They are vented well which does three things, it helps keep your feet cool, they allow water to get out quickly, plus they leave these cute little zebra striped tan marks on your feet. The only negative thing is they also let small pebbles get in and once in, you pretty much have to dig them out. The arch support is also lacking for folks who need extra support but adequate enough to do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect summer activity shoe [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these shoes primarily for water-based activities and I am really impressed with them. Out of the box they fit a little snug but that changed as a wore them into a perfect fit. Those with really wide feet (EEE) may want to go up a size. I was really impressed with the comfort of the sole. These shoes are super comfy! The toe cap is very solid so I never worry about stubbing it on river rocks or getting grit inside the shoe. The traction is great and has worked well getting into and out of kayaks. It also dries quickly. This is an overall great shoe for hiking in the hot summer month and well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice closed-toe sandle, great comfort. I've had these for a few months now and I'd say the best feature about them is the comfort level. Some people might think they look funky, but don't worry, smart people know these are excellent shoes from a top company. If they get wet, they dry pretty quickly, so they're good for rainy days or wading bodies of water. I ride my single speed to class with these on pretty often in the warmer months and they are great for this purpose. Fit true to size, I have slightly wide feet (not wide enough to require wide shoes) and these accommodate me perfectly. They'll conform to those with a sorts of feet shapes too. Well worth the retail price, a steal if you get them on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the best shoes for outdoor activity I have ever owned. They are good for the office also. I am on my 2nd pair of keens. I have had the other top brands. These are by far my favorite. I would not buy a 2nd pair (nylon) if I where not totally happy with the 1st pair (leather). I wear them everywhere but the boring formal occasions. I was in China for 15 days. They are the only shoes I had. I use mine for most of my personal daily activities. At the office (I am in the software biz), daily walks, wilderness trips on my kayak, & everywhere. I just wore them for a rugged day hike at red rock canyon outside of Las Vegas. We where climbing over, & under ankle twisting boulders for hours. My Keens were perfect. After 2 years of constant use they are still pretty good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from secure and swimable These sandals are great! I wear them to fish in a kayak off shore and to and from dive sites. They are really secure and haven't given me any problems. One thing i will caution you with is they run a little big i think. The toe guard on this particular model saved my foot three separate times the first day I wore them. Great for climbing in and out of the water while bug catching in the tide pools. the inside arch support, At first they seem a little much. But they provide awesome padding when jumping off ledges and they also are handy for exiting water so there isn't any standing water in the sandal.

Can you recommend a size in this shoe for female.  I normally wear an 8

Asked by: Poots
Hey Poots! Keen's size 6.5 or 7 in men's would be the closest to a size 8 in women's. Some brands are 2 whole size different, but not the Keen's. They run 1.5 to 1 size smaller in numerical sizing.
