Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only shoes I wear. I made a stand not to purchase from certain countries. I happen to be in a new store our town acquired. I was in need of some sort of hiking boot. I seen a pair of Keens. I thought I would try on a pair and see what they were about. number 1 they weren't made from a certain country. So, I purchased them and wore them the next day. Can't believe how comfortable they were. No, brake in time at all. They fit like a glove, and you can actually see and feel the better quality they offer. These have been the shoes for me. these are the best fitting shoes to me. And as long as the quality remains, I will purchase more. Which I already have done so.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Refunded Under Warranty I'm a big fan of Targhee II's and EXP's. Fit great and wear well. Have owned numerous pairs. I decided to try the non-waterproof Steens. Fit was not an issue, but the material inside the heel-area on the right shoe came apart and exposed my heel to the hard surface underneath. Started rubbing my heel raw. The left shoe wasn't too far behind...same issue. This was after only 7-months of mainly dog-walking on local, flat rail-trails. Two-or-three miles per day and nothing strenuous. To Keen's credit, they refunded my money rather quickly after I filed a claim. Maybe just a bad day at the factory. I think I'm gonna try the Targhee Vents next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Ordered my usual size 10. Arrived quickly and fit perfectly! This is my 5th pair of Keens. I grew up in Hawaii where you don't wear shoes much. It's either barefoot or slippers (flipflops). As a result you end up with what's called luau feet (wide toes). You can always spot a visitor by the way their feet are so narrow. On a visit to the mainland someone turned me on to Keens. What caught my eye right away was the wide toe box. I could never understand why shoes weren't ergonomic. Keens are a dream come true with the wide toe box and proper ergonomic design. Keens are designed to fit your feet! Keens are so comfortable I forget I'm wearing shoes! I got these for the gym and they're awesome! Thank you everyone at Keen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why I love my Steen's I have 4 pairs of Merrill shoes - leather "clogs," 2 pair of Moab, and Yakota. For 20 years I've used them as my go to outdoor/comfort brand. Not anymore. I bought a pair of Targhee hiking boots a few years ago. They're not low rise so I don't wear them with shorts, but I recently bought a pair of Steen's. I will tell you that Keen footwear are well-crafted, comfortable and pretty indestructable. I love them. And I write articles for the outdoors so I hike, mountain bike and spend quite a bit of time in nature. You have a devotee here for sure! Ray H. DuBois, PA

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad, but not quite perfect I haven't had these for long, but they have proven their worth. Wore them on the 18+ mile Presidential Traverse, completed in a single day. No blisters! I did feel some hot spots coming on at one point, and I tightened the shoes down as much as I could so they would not slide so much - I think their design makes a snug fit difficult, even with a good wool hiking sock. Call it a volume issue? A design that was easier to tighten or just fit more snugly to prevent feet from sliding around would have earned the 5th star. In general, these are lightweight, seem to be durable, have good grip, and are super breathable. My feet didn't even stink (much) after having these on for 21 hours straight including 16.5 hours of strenuous hiking. Socks were hardly damp. I would buy these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes! I think they're great, but be a bit cautious on your size choice. Everything else is per great Keen design! Read the negatives on fit before I ordered & stuck with my usual. The toe pocket is different (more narrow like other shoes), & felt it altered the fit length by 1/4 size. so, in my case, I normally take a 10. Keens, I wear a 9-1/2. For this pair, I stretched the pocket a bit with a stretcher for 1/2 hour & they are great. I like that a shoe hugs around the foot for more stability. Hope this helps....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I Just Don't Know They look cool; they seem rugged. I don't know though. I like Keens. I got them to replace a previous pair, different model. They are certainly smaller, significantly. They still fit, kinda, but only with thin socks which sucks in northern Illinois when the wind decides to gust and make itself known on mesh topped shoes. I got these thinking they would be a good fit for year round wear but I don't know if I'll wear them. They're not particularity comfortable. I don't get it because my last pair were fantastic. These feel cheaper; not cheap but definitely not the quality of my previous Keens. I've got them next to the box in which they arrived. They're probably being returned or donated. They look rugged. If that's what you're after for yourself our as a gift then these will be fine.
