Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sandals I just got back from a 7 day wilderness backpacking trip along the coast of Nootka Island. On day 2 my leather hiking boots fell apart (literally) and all I had were my pair of Keen SOLR sandals. I was seriously worried but these shoes stood up to many long days of hard hiking with a 40lb bag up and down slopes, along beaches and rocks and through creeks. I wore socks with them and was amazed to not get a single blister or pain in my knees (as I need to wear orthotics usually). I decided to come onto the website to sing the praises of these awesome sandals (and will be going to provide some not so positive feedback to the hiking shoe company too).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable When I opened the box, I got an awful, toxic smell. from the sandals. I had to put them into another room. I guess this is the price to pay for them being made from recycled plastic - which is a good thing. I ordered a size 7.5, but find them to be a little too snug for me. I have a wide foot. (I have since ordered another style of Keen sandals, in a size 8.) They are very comfortable to walk in. They feel secure, with a good grip. I love the toe protector, as it is awful to bang or stub your toes, when out and about. I cannot imagine a more sure-footed, soft walking sandal. It feels like I am walking on clouds. I have not gotten them wet, yet, but so far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice sandal I really like the Solar sandal. It is so light which is surprising! I will be using it for water activities like walking to beach and paddle boarding. I think it is perfect for this type of activity as the soul on the sandal is tacky. The only drawback is that it’s probably not a sandal for hiking in the outback because there’s no ridges is on the soles For that kind of activity. However I knew that when I bought it them. I also like the fastening feature with the adjustable lace. All aspects of the sandals seem really durable in construction and I love the Keen toebox feature. I look forward to summer activities and water time in these new sandals they are wonderful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for our daughter (12) to wear kayaking, camping, beach activities, etc. As with almost any Keen purchase it is money well spent. Outstanding traction on rocks (wet/dry), very comfortable for day to day walking around, and when wet they dry quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than I expected Wow, these shoes are incredible. I'm an active person (boating, sailboat racing photographer...), and I had major foot surgery this past October. Someone recommended Keen shoes. These are the first shoes I can wear, and the support is incredible. I can walk "normally", I have complete support, and they're so comfortable. I know my foot is safe and protected in these shoes, and I can continue my active life with confidence. Thank you for giving me my life back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for hiking I wore these shoes recently on a trip to the UP in michigan. We went through mud, water, rocks, and roots and they were perfect on every terrain. I wore them jumping off cliffs and swimming and than while hiking back and they did not skip a beat. I did break them in a few days before the trip and that did the trick. My feet were a tad sore just from hiking not my shoes. I had no blisters or anything!! I highly recommend these!

The sandal has great features too. It fits nicely. I love Keen because it has good arch support and very comfortable to wear. I also have Presidio for work. Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit too stiff I ordered a size up in this shoe because my normal size ran very narrow. Unfortunately this is still narrow and after a few wears, it hasn’t stretched much. I bought a shoe tree/stretcher and am trying to stretch them that way because I really want them to work. In the exchange proceeds, I missed out on the color I wanted bit this color isn’t too bad. I guess the final verdict is that the jury’s still out on these.

Are these true to size?

Hello Lumpy, These shoes run true to size however they have a stretch upper that may feel too tight if you usually require adjustability along the instep. The toe box is pretty wide. Hope this helps!
