I wasn’t very familiar with high top boots, but these were light and broken in really fast. I recently used them on a 20+mile 3 day through-hike with creek crossings and about 4,000’ feet of elevation gain. They did a great job. They were grippy, but still pretty streamlined. In combination with XOSkin socks, and body glide, I did not get any blisters or hotspots on my feet. One of the creek crossings got me wet to my shins, but the shoes dried out overnight. I’m glad I bought them.

I sloshed through mud and water and they didn’t leak at all. I wish I could have bought a half size smaller (my true size). I went up half a size because the my regular size felt snug and they didn’t have a wide option. Unfortunately, they rub on the top of my toes because the crease is right over them when I walk. My bad. But they are super comfortable in every other respect. Just wish they had had a wide so I wouldn’t have felt the need to go up a size. I’m new to hiking boots so I’m learning as I go. Highly recommend these unless you have wide feet.

That pair was great for her, and this one looks like it'll be the same. The changes for the "2" don't seem to affect the fit. These are on the lighter side for what I'd call a hiking "boot". They won't last as long as some of the more sturdy construction, but she was comfortable in them the whole time. You'll get one to two years of weekend adventure out of them, but not years of abuse.

Excellent fit. Could have just a little more cushion that's the my reason for not giving 5 stars. But still very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoughtful construction [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these after hiking regularly in tennis shoes and realized I needed some better support for more rugged terrain. The soles are great for traction and reducing slip. The ankle support given by the “high top” is reliable with out feeling constrained in movement. I love the dip and padding around the Achilles area. The boot is light and far less cumbersome than some others I’ve tried. I love the arch support and heel cushion as well. Overall I love these and expect them to tread across many trails and terrain!

One note is that I sometimes wear as small as a 9 but I wear a 10 in these.

There was no break in time they are so light and comfortable I can’t wait to see how many miles I can rack on them. High quality material and are actually so cute! I ordered half a size up like I normally do with boots and they fit great!
