Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's like wearing cozy slippers on rugged terrain! The sizing can be a little strange; however, once they're sized correctly, they're unstoppable. I wear a 10.5 usually. In this specific shoe, I wear a 45.5 (11.5 US). They took a couple runs to break in which isn't bad at all. I've worn these while running Colorado 14ers, long runs, flats, technical, etc. Very comfortable and handles well on loose and/or wet rock. You can definitely gain a lot of speed in the Akasha as well. No weird rubbing or hot spots. Plenty of room in the toe box too. I'm thinking about buying a second pair because I love them so much! I don't think you'll be disappointed in this shoe! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FIRST 65K Utra I picked up a pair of Akasha's for a Desert 65k Ultra trail run I did in Namibia (the furthest Ive ran was 21k before), with lots of slippery boulders, fine riverbed sand and uneven terrain almost all the competitors struggled with sand coming through the mesh of their shoes, even with gaiters, countless toenails where lost and sand emptied from shoes. I finished without a single blister or grain of sand (with a mini gaiter), the Akasha is extremely comfortable for the long runs and require no break in period. Best shoe I've ever owned, and they still look brand new 200k later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Mountain Running Shoe I've owned several La Sportiva running shoes over the years. This is a fantastic summer trail running shoe. Perfect blend of aggressive tread for loose trail surfaces of sand, dirt, pine needles, structure, and enough stiffness (just rite) and shape to keep you rolling forward over the miles. The Akasha breaths well as you warm up. It has a stable landing as you descend trails and the tread holds sell on looks as wall as rock slab. Love the shoe, it has taking my trailing running name up a notch or two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well cushioned and durable I purchased two pair of these due to their fit, have used them extensively for hiking, trail running, and backpacking, and have been extremely pleased. They are protective and very well cushioned, with a durable and grippy outsole, making them perfect for rocky trails. The midsoles didn't start to pack out until around 400-500 miles (I'm not a small person), and the outsole still has plenty of tread, somehow avoiding the usual tradeoff between grip and durability. This shoe is somewhat narrow/low volume, which is exactly what I was looking for. My only complaints are the price (a bit high for a non-waterproof runner), and the fact that on one shoe the foam in the heel collar folded/crushed down (as noted by another reviewer), causing occasional rubbing despite attempts to fix it. The other pair had no issue. Overall, this is the best trail runner I've found. I'll definitely be buying more of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough as nails I bought these shoes strictly for the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania. That part of the trail is known where boots go to die. Having said that, I've destroyed many of other brand shoes through various parts of the trail. These Akasha's held up great and provided plenty of traction. They are a little on the heavy side but you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All Purpose Shoe My favorite trail running shoe for training and long racing! A very agile shoe with good cushioning to keep you comfortable for hours. The tread is aggressive yet if I hit some pavement I don't even notice I'm running on big lugs. It's a do everything shoe for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best All Around Mountain Running Shoe The best running shoes I have ever had. No blisters on runs up to 18 miles. Awesome support and cushioning for rocky trails. The tread and rubber are sticky and inspire confidence on ridge traverses. Super breathable and lightweight for the amount of cushion!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long run friend Coming from the Bushido this is the shoe of choice for long runs. Did IMTUF100 with only minimal shoe adjustment and no hot spots. Less precision than Bushido but much more comfortable. Own three pair and buying the next.
