FEATURES of the Lowa Women's Mauria GTX Flex Boot

  • Nubuck leather uppers are durable and flexible, offering long-lasting protection and comfort; rubber toe and heel caps protect uppers from abrasion
  • Gore-Tex waterproof liners let feet breathe while protecting them from the elements, keeping them dry and comfortable
  • Moisture-wicking polyester linings offer excellent climate control within boots by moving sweat away from feet, helping to reduce the chances of blisters developing
  • Perforations inside cuff linings let heat and moisture out so your feet can enjoy a cool, dry and blister-free environment
  • C4 system uses an asymmetric padded tongue, soft edging, recessed ankle cut and curved insert for tailored comfort across instep
  • Tongue stud X-Lacing system establishes even pressure distribution over the insteps
  • Flex Fit construction facilitates natural ankle flex without compromising stability, resulting in a more comfortable stride
  • Polyurethane midsoles offer outstanding cushioning for all-day wear; midsoles allow for normal pronation but reduce excess cushioning to enhance stability
  • Lowa Mauria GTX hiking boots feature nylon shanks for enhanced torsional rigidity to protect and support feet
  • Vibram Apptrail rubber outsoles feature aggressive lugs, self-cleaning tread and a pronounced edge at front of heel for excellent downhill traction

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boots that will take you everywhere you want to go [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second pair of these boots I have purchased - they are rock solid. No break in period, and comfortable right out of the box. The boot is light enough for day hikes, and solid enough to use with crampons for glacier travel. A perfect all around boot for day hiking, backpacking and mountaineering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied Customer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually order an 8.5 in hiking boots like Vasque or Mammut but the size 8 fit great. I wore them around the house one day, they felt good. The next time was a 6 mile hike in the rocky desert. Did great for durability, felt great, sole is stiff enough that I did not feel all the varying sizes of rocks and gravel I was walking on. They are a little heavy but I do not mind, they are supportive and keep my feet from getting fatigued. It is important that I have enough tread to grip the rock and they did the job. Very satisfied so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No breaking in needed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought them out of a desperate situation. My old lowa shoe fell apart 1 week before hiking Mt. Whitney. I ordered the same shoe, newer model of what I previously had. I got a good price and they came fast. They fit great and are sturdy but comfortable. I did my 18h hike and had zero blisters. These shoes are a miracle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hiking boot out there! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this exact pair for 14 years and they were so awesome that I had to buy them again! I wear a 7.5-8 and 7.5 fit great, so they run maybe just a little larger than most hiking boots but true to size across shoes as a whole.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still rock solid - nice stiff shank [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second pair of Maurias; bought the first about 4.5 years ago and finally wore them out (mid- and out-soles becoming detached - Shoe Goo only gets you another couple weeks per application - and the PU midsole is breaking down in places, so I'm not sure they can be re-soled at this point). Thrilled to find essentially the same boot with just a few minor changes. I wear my hiking boots daily, because my connective tissues are really loose, my feet over-pronate horribly just standing still, and I will get pain all over the bottoms of my feet if I stand / walk for more than a few hours each day (I have custom-from-a-podiatrist orthotics as well). Wearing shoes without a shank, like trail runners, makes everything worse. Same with going barefoot. Uneven surfaces found in nature are a lot more tolerable for me, and I love hiking and bouldering, so I do take these boots into challenging terrain, including Big Bend and the CO Rockies. They have plenty of grip on dry rocks. Wet rocks can pose a slipping hazard no matter your footwear, and I think the Maurias are about 4 out of 5 in their wet handling. I'm not sure the minor changes are worth it / to my liking. The flex lacing system wasn't in my previous model (leather over synth webbing loops), and I can't really tell that it's doing anything that makes the extra grams of metal worth it in the new boot. The heel tongue is also a new addition, and I may cut it out, because I feel like my ankles are getting squeezed just enough to impact blood circulation. Though this might be due to the slightly higher back as well (see back view photo). Not far enough into the break-in period to tell. The lack of a heel tongue certainly didn't bother me in my old pair. As with all hiking boots, you should order half a size up from your regular shoe size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these several years ago, never thought I'd spend that much on hiking boots. Now I have 3 pair!!! I wear them for everything. I hike almost everyday and these are like I don't have anything on my feet. And I've worn them through rain and creeks... no problem. I LOVE my Lowas!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Serious Hikers/Backpackers [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this boot before Christmas to replace another pair of Lowa boots that I have had over 15 years. The sizing and quality of this boot were good. Ankle support is excellent. Unfortunately, they were a little too stiff for the type of hiking I do. So, I returned them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome boots [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything I expected. Own several pairs of Lowas in different styles. Super comfortable for extreme hiking. Waterproof and durable. Can’t beat Lowa.
