not worth the moneyThese are really comfortable right out of the box and I was very excited to try them, but apparently that comfort was deceptive. I found that these shoes weigh quite a bit and I can feel them on my feet and they also give me several hot spots. The weight is probably better suited for backpacking but I find it annoying on regular day hikes. These shoes also have durability issues. After only a handful of hikes in the whites, the leather started separating from the rubber on the front and it got so bad Lowa actually replaced my boots. The suede itself also soon had big chunks taken out of it. For the price I am not impressed with these

These are the best boots I have ever owned and well worth the money.I have a narrow heel, a high arch and navicular (sorry, I taught anatomy), and my toes spread out. These boots fit perfectly and I don't even notice that I'm wearing them. Never a blister or hot spot---ever! These boots are light weight and after 5, going on 6, years they are still waterproof and holding up great! I hike regularly several times every month (3 to 10 miles). I told two of my hiking friends with similar feet about these boots. They bought them and love them as much as I do. Ya, they are expensive, but in the long run you will pay a lot less with these boots.

Boots made it on top of Kilimanjaro!I just returned from climbing Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, and this Lowa boots is the best one I've had ever! We went through 5 different weather conditions and never had problems with it. I also did not have to put on my gaiters during the sandy area and no debris/pebbles went inside. Very comfortable to wear (not to mention fashionable looking for a boots), and water resistant when we crossed a small creek. The only downside for me was on summit night, and I wore 2 wool socks with it. My toes were extremely cold, but then again, it was -20C. You will never go wrong with this boots! It's worth every penny of it! Can't wait for it to travel with me to Aconcagua.

Great hiking boots for narrow feet[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third or fourth purchase of these boots. I have flat narrow feet and once I found these I haven’t gone back. That being said, I would say they get less stuff more quickly than other boots and maybe don’t last as long. I do put plenty of miles on them (my husband and I are almost finished with the 111 mountains in the northeast above 4000 feet, in addition to the Catskills 3500 foot mountains) but these boots wear out before my husband’s Asolos and he hiked quite a bit more than I do. For me, barely any break-in period and few blisters, which I used to struggle with.

Love the fit, but hope goretex lining lasts longer[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually take a 6.5-7 and in this boot a 6.5 fits perfectly, even with heavy winter socks. I bought the same boot 4 years ago and loved it until last month both boots leaked like a sieve. Upon inspection of the inside Goretex lining, it looked like some of the "rubber-like" sealant between the Goretex and bottom footbed liner had worn away. I am not sure why Lowa doesn't make this boot using a full Goretex liner/booty as I have seen in many other boots. Regardless, the comfort and fit of the boot was great enough that I bought it again!

Great all around hunting and hiking boot![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received them and wore for an entire weekend hunting - no blisters or breaking in needed! Super comfortable and kept my feet warm in 35 degree temps (with smartwool socks). They are sturdy and provide great ankle support which is something I look for with a history of a broken ankle. I've worn for a few other weekends in thick mud conditions and they held up great as well. Looking forward to putting more miles and adventures on these boots!

Comfortable, sturdy, 0 break-in time[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've worn the Lowa Renegade GTX consistently for the past 8 years. I typically hike 20-30 miles a week locally and hike in the Alps every summer. The boot is sturdy (last summer in Iceland, climbing glaciers - crampons and snowshoes worked well with boot) with no time needed to break them in. I've tried other boots intermittently over the years and always come back to this one. I really hammer these and a pair usually last 1 - 2 years, but if your use is less demanding than what I put these through they should last much longer, particularly with the vibram soles.

Try 'Em, You'll Like 'Em[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 5th pair of Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Boot. My 1st pair stood me well in the deserts of the Sinai Peninsula, in Israel and Jordan. It crossed survived the streets of Tel Aviv & Jerusalem, hiking around the Galilee, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, the Wadi Rum & Petra. The 2nd & 3rd pairs hiked the Camino de Santiago for three months and the rigors of the Alps in Dec. The 4th and 5th pairs are mainly for walking around town and on occasional hikes around the lake. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and spurs along my Achilles tendons, and with inserts and compression socks, these boots have prolonged my mobility and independence because they support my arches and my ankles. I love my Lowas!
