Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm! Awesome mittens! I have Raynaud’s syndrome, but these mitts keep that in check. I use them working outside as an industrial electrician in the snow in Wyoming...it has only snowed twice so far, but my hands were toasty both times. I wear waterproof gloves underneath them so that I can use the dexterity of fingers, but stay dry and warm. My coworkers want a pair, but aren’t willing to spend the money...yet. For me, it’s worth the investment. My hands make my paycheck for me, so I have to be sure to keep them comfy. When winter hits us hard (and we’ll still be working outside), I’ll be warm and they’ll be wishing they had these Marmot mitts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing Help For Others I measured around my knuckles with an open hand 8.5in (like the company suggests) this would be a medium with their chart. The widest part of my hand (around the base of the thumb) 9.75in that would be their large. I decided to go with an extra large 10-10.5in. When i received them they fit snug on my hands due to the insulation. If you are going to buy these gloves keep this in mind. Make a fist, measure around the four fingers and the knuckles and you will have the size that will just fit. For me that measures 10.5in. I hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price in extreme cold I work in the Canadian North (Northwest Territories) where temps easily reach -50 Celsius. I have always had trouble keeping my hands warm. These mitts keep my hands completely warm and cozy. If you are doing any physical activity your hands will probably get too warm. Your dexterity when wearing these mitts is quite limited, but that is a trade off for the insulation and comfort gained. These mitts are listed as men's but I bought the small, based off the size guide, and the fit great!,,,,I don't think the leather palm was really made for tough wear and tear, that would be about the only issue. All in all, completely worth it for warm hands!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm, not super durable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work and play outside in arctic Alaska during winter, in temperatures below -30F plus high winds. I have tested several types of mittens in this environment, and these mittens are good. The down liner is very warm, often enough on its own to keep my fingers dexterous. Add the snug shell to this and I rarely find myself needing more. My one complaint is that the shells began to show signs of wear during their first season, though I frequently handle sharp/rough objects for my work and without this added stress it probably wouldn't be an issue. I'm still waiting for a mitten this warm that doubles as a work glove!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome mitts! I bought my mitts 8 years ago. I live in Canada and deliver mail for a living. I use these mitts every year all winter. They are great from a mild -7 to a harsh -30 with wind chill to -40. And, in recent years I only use the outer mitt with a hot pack inside. I have at times just used the down inner mitt too. Either option has great flexibility and i manage to leaf through my mail with the mitts still on. LOVE these mitts. The price threw me at first however they are well worth the cost. The best mitts i have ever owned. I struggle to imagine using any other mitts. So I am super glad they are still available because they sadly are just starting to show some mild wear around the seams. Would love to be able to buy the shell alone as the down mitt is still mint. Highly recommend these for any individual and for any activity!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme Elements Protection Very versatile product, with the removable/usable mitten inserts, and the extreme weather shells. Perfect for withstanding the extreme temperatures of the past winter (2013/4).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber Mitts Exactly the glove I was looking for when the mercury drops! The ability to wear just the shell, just the down liner, wear them together, or you can even wear the shell over your technical gloves if you don't need to go atomic on your hands. I was impressed by the dexterity this glove affords you for how warm it is. A must for any mountaineering adventure.
