Prefer the old styleWe ended up returning this model. Both my girls have been wearing the original design for two years. They are about to outgrow their size small coats. I ordered the new version in a medium and it was the same size as the old model small. So it looks like this newer style runs small. Additionally the down filling in the new model is not as “fluffy” and full as the previous one. We opted to return these and reorder the previous version. This is a great coat, but for us, when compared to the older model it did not meet our needs or expectations.

The original was better :(We have re-purchased this jacket THREE times over the last five years as my daughter has grown. We just came back to add one for her sister, but this new version of the Montreaux coat isn't nearly as great as the previous version. Most importantly, this one is much thinner and doesn't appear to be as warm. Also, the style is just not as cute as the first iteration and the material isn't as nice, either. Please bring back the old one!

Great jacket, not as many features as original[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the kids' Montreaux II jacket in the Very Berry for our 11 year-old daughter. It's a nice color, more of a berry than hot pink and our daughter loves it. We previously had the original Montreaux jacket for her but she grew out of it so it was time to replace it with an XL (she is tall for her age: 5'1" and weighs 99 pounds). We like a full coverage/longer jacket for her so that she can stay warm in our colder weather. The original Montreaux has a thin fleece lining for the upper part on the inside that is nice but is missing in the new Montreaux II jacket. The Montreaux II has the same material as the outside on the inside, the original version just feels cozier because of the fleece. And, the original has a powder cuff for the wrists that the Montreaux II jacket does not. Other than that they are very similar, both 700 fill, and so far our daughter is happy with the jacket.

Keeps the wind out![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my daughter 2 winters ago. She wore it everyday on her walks to and from school. It is nice and long to keep her legs warm too. I just got the next size up for her and hopefully it will fit 2 more winters. Easy to wash and the fur unzips from the hood. Highly recommend for Midwest winters.

A little thin but totally worth itWhen we first got this coat, we were taken aback by how thin it was. For it to be a 700 down coat, we were not convinced that it would be warm enough. We decided to test it out anyway, but my husband was convinced it would have to be returned.
My daughter loves it. She wears it with a hoodie underneath but she has never complained about being cold. We live in New York City. It hasn’t been as cold as I know it can get but we have at least had 23 degree mornings and she has been good.

Warmest Coat[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Granddaughter wanted a warmer, longer winter coat. Her legs were always cold in the usual hip length jackets. The soft brushed lining in the upper body and the pockets adds to the warmth and comfort. The hood and fleece lined collar keep her head warm. She doesn't have any trouble with the zipper. She loves this coat.
