Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and well built I had a Patagonia down "sweater" jacket that wasn't warm enough. So I tried the Ares hoping it would provide the warmth I wanted. This jacket feels a million times better than the Patagonia. The shell is more substantial and the pockets are lined. Oh yeah, and it is definitely plenty warm! It isn't a bulky jacket either and the Angel Arm thing is a nice touch. Had it in a snow, with howling winds and sub freezing temps and with only a fleece pullover, and a long sleeve thermal shirt I was sweating and had to unzip. I'm 5'9" and 155#'s. Bottom line it's awesome. Does get wet if subjected to massive amounts of moisture but was still warm. Recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got it in that cool retro orange, LOVE IT! I've had this jacket for just over a month now and man, it's just awesome. I love everything from the awesome, retro colors/style, to the outstanding quality and features of this jacket. It's February in Utah and I've been wearing this thing around outside with nothing but a T-shirt on underneath. It is Toasty with a capital T. It's also really, really light too, and the part I love most is it's ability to pack into it's own pocket. This baby turns into a perfect pillow for me to use in my sleeping bag at night. Here's what you do: Wear it at night, pack it up in its pocket, use it as a pillow/keep it warm, wake up and throw it back on. This jacket gives probably the most stylish middle finger to cold weather I've ever seen. I get compliments all the time on the color too!(sexy orange/lime) I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a super high-quality down that's got more attractive colors and a price that doesn't make the wife question your sanity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maine winter killer. After a recent cold spell last month I decided it was time for a down jacket. Couldn't have made a better decision. I am 5'11'' and 185lbs. and the Large fits absolutely perfect. Length, sleeves, everything is right. Tight up under the armpits, which I like. Not "boxy" like several others that I tried on. Looks good, keeps me warm, all good things.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not exceptional [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my ares jacket just in time for the cold snap of winter. And I can attest to the warmth this lightweight guy brings to the party. It. Is. Warm. As far as fit goes I wish I’d gone and gotten my usual large size instead of being talked into a medium for the sake of layering. It was a good fit still I just prefer a looser feel. The jacket is super light weight I barely noticed I had it on. My biggest complaint would be the super thin material that seemed to snag on everything and leave scars all over. Utilities wise? It’s a very good jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket & Pillow? Jacket is ultrawarm, ultrasoft, ultralight and ultrastylin'!  Cool retro look.  The jacket can be completely tucked and zipped up into one of it's own pockets turning the jacket into a great travel pillow!!  Bout the size of a cantaloup when stuffed into it's pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket but needs more.... How about at least one zip napolean pocket, a zip interior pocket, and possibly a hooded version. That being said, great jacket, love the shades of green version

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Light Weight, Small Footprint, Warm This jacket was exactly what I was looking for. I live in North Alabama, where Winter weather may swing from the 30s in the morning to nearly 70 in the afternoon. This jacket kept me warm on the coldest and wettest days of this past winter. Since the jacket is packable and has a small footprint, it's super easy to carry along with me on days where it has gotten too warm to continue to wear - as well as being easy to carry along on a warm day, in anticipation of a cold evening. The jacket it stylish and I have gotten multiple compliments on it (even from my friends who poke fun at me for wearing 'puffy coats'). I'm 6'2 and ~220 lbs (long torso) - the XL fits me perfectly. So far I am loving it and would definitely buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and warm! Very happy with my purchase. The jacket is warm and thin enough to layer underneath.  Plus it folds into itself to transport.
