Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept me dry in some sloppy spitting sleet Nice jacket for cooler days with the right amount of insulation. Was going to buy a 3L shell but went here instead as the fit was not too tapered, could be worn on warm days with fewer underlayers, generous pit zips and has just enough (very minimal from a what I can tell) insulation to keep warm when we the temps drop below 30. Got to use it yesterday in a sleet/rain event - walked to some local fields, played snow/slush soccer and managed to stay dry without needing to crack the pit zips over the course of two rainy hours. Can not wait to take it on the slopes which was the primary intent for this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple months ago to replace a cheaper Northface shell. It is the first time I have spent the money to get a layer I expect to last years and years. You can tell the quality immediately. The fit and finish are strong. The zippers and details are high quality. I expect to use this for a long time, and I am glad I spent the money. Also, my wife loves the color, so you know, that is great too. I am 5'10" and 175, and the medium fits perfectly. I wear a size Large T-shirt, but this runs a little large, so go with the medium if you are my size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great, maybe too short for snowboarding. The jacket was warm and water proof. Colors were as expected. Overall a great purchase. My one issue was the length; it was short enough to allow snow to come in every time I had a bad fall on the mountain. The length LOOKED great, and would be fine for most applications, but for snowboarding I should have picked a jacket with a few more inches of length to help keep snow out. I am 5' 8" and 145lbs and a small fit me well. Medium was a little too baggy on me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat! This is a well thought out, light, warm, and well made jacket. I am 6’4” and weigh 205 lbs and a size L fits with room to move around. The coat also breathes well and the pockets carry the load in them without flopping around. I got a black coat because the other color combo is pretty terrible. I wish they had better selection of colors, that’s my only complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely LOVE this ski jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an incredible jacket. It keeps me warm, dry, and on the slopes. The only thing missing is a thumb cuff built into the jacket, but that can be addressed by wearing a marmot base layer. It also fits larger than standard sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carson Jacket... tough being an in-betweener. I’m 5’11” and 220 lbs and found the shoulders in the Large to be just a smidge too tight. Went up to the XL and it fits great without getting dramatically sackier in the body which was a worry of mine. The construction is top notch and kept me bone dry in a monsoon-esque day up on the PNW slopes. Loving the fun color combinations and very happy with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket The hood design would be better if the collar were higher and the draw strings at the sides instead of the back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price, great features, great ski jacket This is my second Marmot Carson Jacket. I love it and needed a smaller size due to weight loss. This jacket lined but not insulated making it very comfortable for a wide range of temperatures with many layering options. I have used this jacket for 12 of the last 15 days in temperatures for 10 to 38 F in rain, sun and snow. I have been kept dry and comfortable, protected from rain and wind. The gore Tex lining breathes and keeps me from being overheated while keeping the rain out. The jacket has pockets galore including a pass pocket on the sleeve and an inside cell phone pocket. There is a large interior pocket for spare goggle lenses or your neck gater for when it gets warmer. There are pit zips if more ventilation is needed and a powder skirt for those pow days. What I like most about this jacket is that it is an inch or two shorter than most jackets I’ve tried. I’m 5’10” and this hits me right at mid hip and the sleeves are just right, running just below my wrist.
