Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best jacket I’ve ever owned! When this jacket arrived, I was a little disappointed because I wanted a warmer jacket than what this appeared to be. It was very comfortable and light and to my surprise, incredibly warm for such a light jacket. I live in Minnesota and we’ve had a cold winter. Many days not getting aboove 0 degrees. I put away my heavy coat and wear this jacket only. If you zip it up all the way, it will keep you warm down to zero degrees with a sweatshirt underneath. If I was going to be outside under 10 degrees for more than an hour, I’d probably wear something warmer but for your day to day running around, this is the perfect warm comfortable jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Taylored Fit i'm very picky about how my clothes fit me and this jacket met my expectations and then some. Form fitted, true to size, and the perfect combination of style and rugged. I'm 32 years old and I could see myself having worn this all the way back to when I was in middle school on up until I'm old and gray.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Go To jacket I purchased this at the beginning of winter and initially though this was a more structured jacket based on the pictures. When I pulled it out of the package I was a little bummed to see how soft it was assuming that soft = light weight. Nothing further from the case. This jacket is fantastic in the wind and cold and my first choice when going out. The liner makes it virtually windproof yet breathable and it's so comfortable. Our typical local winter temps are fairly mild with lows in the 20's but we went north for Christmas with single digit temps and this jacket was fine for our running around town which is where this jacket excels. Its so light and warm that its perfect for those days where you are in and out of the car, short walks downtown, pub crawls that night, etc... the jacket just works and you never want to take it off. Warm when you need it, comfortable all the time and breaths well enough that you don't feel the immediate need to take it off when indoors. I got so many compliments on it while home for Christmas that my father ended up ordering one as well before we left to come home. Note - this is a fairly tailored fit. I am 6'1" 215# with a 46" chest / 34" waist and the Large fits just right - not too snug or too baggy. My Dad is 42" chest / 36" waist but a bit of a belly and had to go with an XL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect everyday fleece! Pros: Above average style for a fleece jacket Great fit Smooth lining Buttery-soft fleece Cons: Occasional static when taking off This jacket in slate grey (the previous solid, not the newer heather version) is my first Marmot item, and I'm impressed. The Hawkins is definitely one of my favorite jackets. I mean ever. And I've had my share of jackets, so much so that my wife actually makes fun of how many jackets I own / have owned. But enough about me. Marmot got so many things right with this one. No, it may not be the most technical or lightest weight, but I'm not a mountain climber, nor do I want to look like I'm on a jog everywhere I go. The style factor is obvious: the classic cut of a denim trucker jacket, upgraded to a warm fleece with slightly articulated sleeves. Collar also looks good up or down (Ok, slightly better up. You cool kids know…) Another feature that puts this fleece above the rest is the smooth lining. Honestly, I don't know why Marmot doesn't make a point to mention it. The lining means that unlike most fleece, you can slip it on and off quickly and easily, and not look like you're in a one-man wrestling match while trying to get your under-layers straight. Fit is also outstanding (in the XL for me). Nicely tailored (again, like the classic trucker) without being too tight or binding, and enough room for a couple of layers underneath if you wish. Length of the sleeves and hem is also just right. Of course, I realize we're not all the same size, so here are my stats for reference: •6'2" •245 lb (ish) •46-48 chest •36-38 waist Speaking of the hem and sleeves, the droptail hem and angled cuffs not only look cool, but also add a bit more protection from that cold, brisk wind with its sights set on freezing your hands or your plumber's crack. The only feature I might like to see added would be color-matched elbow (and maybe shoulder?) patches for a little more durability and rain protection. In short, this is a great everyday, cold-weather jacket. Practical, stylish and warm. I love it so much I'm pondering buying another color. I can hear my wife now…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cut, comfortable and lightweight I have this jacket in green and black. Bought the green one and liked it so much I wanted it in black as well. The cut of the sleeves is perfect and the overall fit is perfect for me (5'11, 160 lb), I got a small size because I'm fairly thin for my height .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and stylish I am a big fan of Marmot clothing and the Hawkins Jacket does not disappoint. It is very comfortable and smooth to the touch. On a recent trip, I was cozy in the low 50's and breezy conditions with a thin flannel underneath. It traveled well and did not wrinkle, maintaining a fresh look the entire trip. I am 5' 6" and 155 lbs. and the small fits well; the arms are a little long, but that happens with most jackets I've bought, and the hem lands around the bottom of my backside. The chest pockets fit my iPhone 6 and the hand pockets are cozy and spacious. I normally dress "business casual" for work and this jacket compliments my work clothes well. I haven't washed it yet so I can't speak to its durability post-wash. Very pleased with Marmot once again! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
