Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great deal for gore-tex like jackat [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I lost my older Precip. This is a great upgrade that is more waterproof and breathable. Just got in time for a rainy weekend and it performed great. As others mentioned, the feel is softer and less plastic like. If you are looking to upgrade for less than gore-tex with similar perm rating, you should consider this one. I am a 42 chest and ordered the large. It is slightly big but works for me because I can layer under it. Still torn on whether I should have gone with medium but it may have been too small. Higher pocket are great for backpacking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marmot rain jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been looking for a lightweight wind/rain proof jacket for sometime for mountain biking. This jacket is just what I needed to tame my early spring rides. The jacket is roomy but not boxy, it has hook/loop closure for the cuffs, armpit vents and sealed front zipper. The neck has a nice soft material as well for when the zipper needs to go all the way up!! The jacket also has a hood, but unfortunately it is not large enough to go over my helmet. Side pockets are angled so that things won’t fall out if you inadvertently forget to zip them. The jacket breathes enough to allow layering and only a minimal amount of moisture remained on the inside of the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for I have only had this a few days but thought I'd write a review as there aren't any up yet. First observation- this jacket is exactly what it looks like in the pictures and description. I bought it to wear through spring and, with a fleece under it, into the New England fall. So far so good. Pros: -Material feels like a lighter version of a traditional winter shell- not at all rubbery like a lot of rain jackets. too soon to tell but it feels very well built. -Breathes really well. My old precip would get muggy pretty quickly, but this does not. Won't do much in winter, but great for a rain jacket. -I bought the green and it looks exactly as advertised. -I'm 6'0 ~180 and the medium comes about halfway down my palms and is large enough to fit a fleece under without looking bulky. Cons: -The pockets are too high. Your hands sit uncomfortably up by your ribs. No internal pocket. -The hood is a little stiff so it sits up like a winter style shell instead of tucking away. I don't love the way it rests. Overall pretty happy. Look at the pictures carefully and if you think it's a fit, it probably will be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the trick [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Love the green color and the light weight material. One thing that takes some getting used to is the position of the front pockets. They are much higher than normal position so if you are trying to put your hands in, you end up closer to your chest than your waist. I did notice that it does make it easier to get into cars if you have your phone/wallet etc. in those pockets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Liner deteriorating Great jacket, until I put it on recently only to find the liner has begun to fail. Not what I'd expect from Marmot, especially at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded Precip [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had a precip jacket for about 20 years, only recently has it started to show signs of that age and wear across the country. I've taken it to almost every state in the continental US, most with some rain in the time there. It's always performed wonderfully. Back to this new one, this feels like a modern version of the precip for sure. Purchased an orange one and love the bright color. Online photos are very true to what it looks like. The liner is not what I would call "plastic bag" like at all. It's more like a soft mesh. The outer fabric is also soft, not a crunchy nylon. I have yet to give this a go in a solid rainstorm, but all the things I liked about the original precip are here, just for 2022. The 20K should be plenty for most adventures. The little fleece by the face, pockets that are great for wearing a backpack with, pitzips, and simple drawstrings, 1 for each: waist and hood. I'm a fan. Hope I can claim the same 6 months or longer from now

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, in jacket form. Have had a basic Precip rain jacket in the past, held up greatover a decade... owed it to myself to uprgrade. Has a few more features thany old one, but stillmoffers the same superuor rain protection while helping to mitigate sweat. Marmot knows raingear!
