Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but could use refinement This jacket is quite warm despite its light weight and appearance. Materials and construction are excellent, but it could use a few features. Pockets are somewhat lacking, especially internal pockets. It could also benefit from a fastener between the layers at the collar and perhaps a second in the sleeves as they tend to pull when removing the coat. Handwarmer pockets are a tad small. Fit is quite slim for a winter jacket. If you plan on a bulky under layer like a hoodie or fleece, definitely order a size up. I wear a Medium in every Marmot jacket I have owned, but wish I had ordered a large in this. With a few small refinements, this jacket would be a sure 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from World-class customer service! I purchased a men's Torino shell on sale but the size was too small for my son. I thought I would exchange it for a larger size but by then the sale jackets had sold out. When I called Marmot, the person I spoke with could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. He exchanged the jacket I had purchased on sale (last year's model) for a larger size in this year's model and honored the sale price for the new jacket plus gave me free shipping! I could not be more impressed! Oh, and the jacket is wonderful too! My son loves the blue color and all the great pockets and features. Thank you for a great product and superior customer service!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect everyday jacket I got this jacket to replace my (very old) everyday jacket. I wanted a waterproof jacket that didn't feel waterproof and this is it. The shell material is very soft and "quiet" unlike many waterproof materials. It's very warm and the zip out liner will make this a fantastic 4-season jacket. There's enough Velcro on the cuffs to adjust to the right size and not have a flap leftover to hang off and curl up. The only downside really for me comes when hanging it on a doorknob since the shell tends to slide off the liner. This, in turn, will be an upside for my wife since it will eventually get me to stop hanging my jackets on the closet doorknob--something my wife hates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from utile personified... purchased the jacket due to the inability to decide what would be the ideal outerwear for all that old man winter presents this winter... and which particular activity- whether merely strolling along the street or engaging in outdoor activities such as skiing or tossing snowballs. as with all the Marmot products one has purchased over the course of forty something years the jacket is no exception with attention to detail, quality material and stitching. this jacket allows one to remove the inner lining when the weather is a little warmer. certainly do look forward to use when the temperature takes a nosedive this winter... and then donate the jacket along with other Marmot winter items purchased this season to a worthwhile charity that gives to the homeless in the big apple. one implores everyone who reads this to give to those less fortunate. it is the right thing to do giving from the heart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I've had this jacket for about a month and I love it. I bought it for skiing but it also works well as an everyday cold weather jacket. When spring comes around I'll likely just go with the fleece and it's really nice to have the option. On thing is that I wish the Velcro was stronger on the opening flap. Sometimes I'd like to just use that to keep the jacket closed instead of having to zip up but it's really not strong enough to keep it closed. But overall, very happy. 5'10", 155, medium fits great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flexible Shelled Fleece This is waterproofed shelled fleece with a lining that comes out. The problem with shelled fleece is that conditions change and as your level of exertion changes, there is no flexibility. This piece solves that problem. This would not be my ideal shell or my ideal fleece, but working in tandem, it's one of those things I can stuff in my bag to meet a variety of needs. This is not a performance garment, it is casual to light-activity piece. Ideal for a day out along the coast. I would not use this for X-C skiing. Fit is small-normal. The lining adds bulk, so if you are normally a small (as I am), you might be more comfortable in a medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Comfortable I'm 6' 1" and 185 pounds. I always order a large in shirts and jackets. I went with an XL on this one after reading the reviews, and I'm glad I did. Fits perfectly in the chest and shoulders and allows a sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves are slightly long, but no big deal. The jacket is warm, light weight, and very comfortable. Coldest I've been out in so far is 30 degrees F and very windy. I was warm even with just a T-shirt underneath. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall an awesome coat I bought this coat a month ago. I live in DC, so temperatures have been consistently in the 20s (F). Often very windy and wet. I have found that the jacket works great for this temperature, even wearing only a t-shirt underneath. I was even at a holiday market for a few hours one afternoon and it was cold and pouring and the jacket kept me both warm and dry the whole time. Haven't used it for colder temps, but have been warm wearing it in this range, so I think it will do very well when it gets colder. Fit was accurate and has been nice. I purchased a medium (6 foot, 160 lbs), and find that I can wear my work clothes (long sleeve dress shirt and sweater or blazer) without issue. The sleeves of the jacket go on without pulling the sleeves of my clothing up when putting it on (i.e. sleeves aren't too tight), but don't feel loose or bulky either. Length is also great. Two small complaints for the jacket snob :) I'd say the hood sometimes feels sliiiightly small when pulling it up sometimes, but I think it's worth it. It means it stays up well in the wind and rain and I don't have to constantly pull it back into place. Also, the velcro that covers the front zipper is strong enough to get in the way of zipping it up sometimes, but not enough to hold the jacket closed if not using the zipper. A minor inconvenience that isn't a big deal. But mentioning anyway for sake of info. All things considered, highly recommend this jacket.
