DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth buying but a few minor annoyances This jacket is very warm. It's almost like a sleeping bag, which makes it excellent for cold weather. I've been out for a few causal walks with windchills in the teens and stayed nice and warm. I only have a few knocks. The zipper is very lightweight and feels cheap for a jacket in this price range. It's the thing I worry most about breaking long-term. It's the only place it feels like corners were cut. Another knock is how loud the exterior material is. It does a great job at blocking wind, but it sounds a lot like the noise corduroy pants make when I move. Lastly, I am glad the hood is removable. In the down position it still feel like it still envelops my head. I'm sure the first big snowstorm I am out in I will love it, but until then I've removed it entirely from the jacket. It's a good, warm jacket and I would buy it again, despite the downsides. It would just be nice to see improvements for future iterations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARM JACKET This jacket is awesome. It is so warm, I wear just a T-shirt underneath when it's 25*F outside and am very comfortable. I haven't worn it in rain or snow yet so I can't comment on the Gore-Tex performance. The only annoying thing is the top of zippered part of the front (where your face is) is very stiff and kind of stabs you in the face if it's not zipped up 100%, or ~7" unzipped, but I think it's breaking in and won't be as annoying eventually. Regardless, this jacket is SO warm and comfortable, I love it and highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All good here!! Absolutely perfect coat for my fiancé. Toasty warm and well insulated for a man who hates the cold; has Gore Tex, nice long sleeves, fits generously true to size and even when roomy this style looks dapper and can be worn dressed up or in the woods. Can’t say enough good about it! Marmot jackets are built to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat I've ever had I rarely, if ever, leave reviews. I recently purchased this in a small (5'11", 165 lb). The coat is incredibly warm and very comfortable to wear. The fact that it's waterproof is just a bonus as I got it for the warmth. Agree the zipper is a little tricky - mainly because you have to move the windflap aside to zip it up. But given the rest of the coat, its a small inconvenience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wearing the coat Four Stars for warm at -18C * good construction not five stars for small fiddley Zipper and sizing (bit tight in shoulders & upper arms). Zipper was hard to engage at lower end of two way, which when it’s cold isn’t what user wants to contend with. wish list: interior pocket inside of down layer for phone- to keep phone in its operating range

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not overly warm I wanted this to be great, but with a t shirt on and actively walking for 20 minutes in 37’ temps it didn’t impress. The zipper was also a pain to get started due to the combination of waterproof flap and being a double zipper. Maybe for a deeper discounted price I would have lived with it but for what it cost it went back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice It’s one of the best jackets I tried. I ordered about 4 different jackets from 4 different brands and none was as good. Either warm but doesn’t look so good or very nice looking but fails to keep you warm. This is the best of both worlds. It’s warm enough for NY winter with layering and very nice looking
