Product Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice shells, good price, but sizes are very small The shell mitts are ok, but i am not very big, ~ 5'8" & 185, with fairly short but somewhat wide (~7.5") hands, & I can get only a thin mitten inside these thinly-lined shells. I prefer shells with no sewn-in liner, so i can use my own fleece mittens or gloves. I bike ride year-round in Montana, where it gets below 0°F in the winter, & also xc ski and walk & hike. When it's cold, I nest 2 or 3 layers of fleece mittens inside shells. I like to remove the fleece mittens to dry them out at home or in a cabin. This is the consensus of the winter bikers & backcountry skiers I know. A sewn-in liner is much harder to dry quickly. Even the XL shells are too small to receive more than a thin fleece mitten as a liner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great weatherproof shell mitt for winter! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a glove/mitten solution for winter hiking in the White Mountains of NH and found these to be an integral part of one that works well. I use a few pairs of glove liners (wool, silk, synthetics) for light insulation and these shells protect them from wind/snow. The long gauntlet keeps the wind and water out and protects my hands from the elements while they warm themselves. The grips allow me to handle and open gear without slippage. These mitts do exactly what I hoped they would.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from She’ll should be roomier Not warm enough as a mitten, not roomy enough for a shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just enough These are just what I wanted for skiing. They are very thin, almost just a shell. Skiing is hard work and I always sweat up my gloves. These will be perfect. Easy on off, big cuff to keep the snow out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keep your hands warm and dry [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They do what they're supposed to. I do wish they were slightly slimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm as Toast Will work perfectly in my back up bag when the weather changes my hands from gloves to mitts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned them While these are very good quality- they’re SUPER thin. They’re literally 2 layers: the outer layer and a very thin fleece layer inside. No padding/stuffing or insulation. Had to return because that’s just not going to work during Wisconsin winters. If you want a lightweight mitten or to wear gloves under your mittens- these are for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Over mitten [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these as a shell to fit over a pair of boiled wool mittens. They worked great for this pupose. They have an inner lining that is soft. They don't slide over my wool mittens, and help to keep my hands warm when it's quite cold.
