Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit! Beautiful Color I received my jacket within two days of placing my order. Generally, I am a little apprehensive about ordering clothes on line, but this was exactly what I wanted! The fit and color are perfect and it is expertly tailored. I needed a light weight but warm coat for traveling and this will work perfectly! Sonoma evenings can get quite chilly even in summer. One of the reasons I often hesitated about going to outdoor concerts is because I am never warm enough, but now I can be perfectly warm and comfortable without wearing a coat on top of a coat. Function, quality and beauty, I could not be more pleased!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat except too much velcro Finally got a Gortex jacket for rainy PNW winters! Pros: Fits nicely over layers (plenty of shoulder room), flattering shape, nice longer length (mid-thigh), lightweight, zippered pockets, adjustable hood, pit zips. Cons: VELCRO. Excessive velcro on coats is super annoying. It snags clothes. This coat has velcro along the zipper and the pockets, both of which seem totally unnecessary given the coat design. I'm either going to cut it out or buy some fabric to cover it with because it's super scratchy and will ruin knit sweaters and wool shirts. Also wish it had inside pockets. I got a small. I'm 5ft tall, 116lbs, 34A.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect and slimming! I purchased a size medium in the Sailor color. It runs true to size. The shoulders have a wider cut than the Montreal coat, as I have a size medium in this also. Sleeves are long too in the Essentials! The coat hits at my upper thigh (5’10) and is fitted through out the coat. It gives a nice slimming, hour glass fit. It is easy to move in. It does swish when walking, but it is gortex so it is expected. Pockets are placed nicely on the jacket. I would have liked one more small on the chest or inside to put a phone or keys. It has vent pockets under the arms and the hood and neck are great and cover a lot. This essentials jacket is the perfect rain jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Rain Jacket This is a great value - higher priced than some similar jackets but definitely worth the extra dollars. GoreTex makes a difference! I live in the Pacific Northwest where rain is a daily occurrence and this jacket will serve me well. My only negative comment is that the sizing runs a little small across the shoulders and upper arms. If you want to bulk up underneath this rain jacket then I suggest ordering a size up. I purchased the raspberry color and it is really pretty - very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am thrilled with this coat! This coat really delivers! I wore it in the pouring rain yesterday and remained warm and dry underneath. I love the way it tapers in at the waist and reaches my mid-thigh for good coverage and style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great name for theis jacket So far so good...I live in the Pacific Northwest , Jacket has kept me dry during routine daily wear on rainy days. There are not a lot of bells and whistles. It has 2 zippered out side pockets. I would like to have an inside pocket. The jacket is longer so you have more coverage. Wouldn't recommend for serious hiking it could prove cumbersome but will work well for my daily needs. I bought it larger so I can easily layer on colder days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely longer jacket I love this jacket because it covers your hips and thighs, so you have less of a risk of getting soaked from sideways rain. The medium is very much a true medium -- sleeves brushing comfortably past your wrist bones. The hood is deep enough to cover your forehead, but is not ridiculously deep. The only qualm I can think of is that there are no drawstrings on the hood (I think?). Material is great. It's Gore-tex, so I'm not worried about ripping this up on some branches. This is a bit expensive for a rain jacket, considering the Precip is often like $50-60. But if you can nab this on sale, then get it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice longer length raincoat I bought this jacket recently after watching a YouTube video about it. I was looking for a longer raincoat that was lightweight and packable. It is a nice jacket, though it seems to run kind of small in width. I ordered an XL, which is a size bigger than I've done with other raincoats, but it still doesn't have lot of room for extra layers under it. (I guess I'll have to get a bit skinnier!) The sleeves are kind of long for me at that size. I was disappointed that it does not have a pocket that it stuffs into for packing into a backpack or bag. And it was pretty pricey. But other than those things, it seems well-made, has a nice hood, and I love the longer length which should help keep me dry here in the rainy Pacific Northwest :)
