Rated 5 out of 5 by from great gift the sliver (light grey) featherless hoody was welcomed with outstretched arms by my girlfriend, who with curious abandonment ran upstairs to the full-length mirror to find that it tapered as she did, amply covered her admitted "longer than most" arms, and casually concealed her in back. the silver was in contrast to her range of black garments which highlighted the attractive puffy pattern as appealing for casual and less casual outings. PLUS she gave a smile to the inside zippered pocket. She's thanked me a half dozen times in as many days for this thoughtful (and affordable) gift. Since i had previously bought one for myself, and had appreciated it entirely, it was an easy purchase for a loved one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing seriously flawed This is a nice jacket but the sizing is seriously flawed. I am 5'0'' and 103 lbs. The extra small is the right length for me in the body and sleeves, but it is so tight it is uncomfortable even with just a t-shirt underneath, let alone a warmer layer. Jackets for cooler weather should have room for some layers. I cannot understand why so many "winter" jackets are sized so small as to be virtually unusable. This should be a practical jacket for wearing outdoors, not a skin tight fashion piece. I am very disappointed lately in all of Marmot's outerwear. I kept the size small, which is large enough to allow a midweight layer, but it's really too long for me. Please stop designing outerwear to be so tight!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a fit! I was so excited to get this jacket! Functionality is on point. Extremely comfortable and cut perfectly for a womans shape. Other winter jackets I have had have made my torso look like a box or giant puffy blob. This jacket is attractive, ultra lightweight and perfectly warm in cold temps! In the short time I have had it I've taken it hiking well beyond 9k feet elevation, over East to explore high desert and waterfall hunting in the damp North West. I wont go on an adventure without it! I am normally a medium in jackets though I find the small to be a better fit. Which I've learned to be the trend now for most outerwear. If you plan to wear thick heavy layers under your winter wear than I would say it's true to size. If you prefer to wear light layers under your coat than I would size down. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect non-feather puffer hoody! I read the reviews - helped with sizing - usually I am somewhere between a large and an XL, with my big chest & broad shoulders, narrower hips - the XL is perfect...the baffles are super flattering for a puffer, the chest is comfy, allows great arm/shoulder movement without restriction - the arms fit nicely too - not too big at all, nor too long (but generous for my long arms), falls long on hips sorta like tunic length. I'm 5'7, 168 lbs. I could wear a thin wool sweater under this covering my needs for winter in NorCal, or no sweater, working well for early morning or foggy windy afternoon walks with the doggie. Pockets perfect too. My favorite puffer hoody!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Option for Staying Warm and Cozy I've had my Marmot Featherless Hoody for a little over a month. I live in Portland, OR which is notoriously a wet climate. I've been incredibly impressed by how warm and dry the jacket keeps me when biking around town even in the rain. My only feedback would be the fit. I have a medium jacket which fits on the larger end for me. It could be great for wearing a piece underneath. However, I am more likely to need to wear an outer layer and that is difficult to do given the large sizing. Overall, love my jacket and wear it almost every day. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Giant arms = very sad shopper After hours of searching online and reading every review, I settled on this jacket. I was VERY sad that I ended up returning this jacket because I loved everything about it except the arms. The area from the shoulders down to the elbows was so very disproportional to the rest of the jacket. I suppose if you were a weight lifter, that would be helpful, but for someone with normal arms, it is too much material. I looked like the Michelin man. I loved the dark pink color and the hood, and the flattering lines of the seams on the torso, but I couldn't get over the arms. So I sent it back. Also, it was a larger fit than a normal medium. The other reviews that I read said that too. If you wanted to layer 2 or 3 layers, with a thick fleece under it, it would be fine. But other than that, I would go down a size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!! First time using it it was a chilly 20-30 degrees. I was night fishing and hooked into a lunker! Landed this 24+ inch football of a rainbow. When I netted this monster the real fight was on. all of a sudden it decided it didn't want its picture taken and leaped towards the depths of its home. I tried to keep a hand on this glorious fish as I plummeted twords the water. Ended up diving in chest deep after it to end up never seeing it again. Afterwords I squeezed the excess H2O from the jacket and to my surprise I kept warm well after the escape of this elusive fish. Went on to stay on the water warm and dry to keep pulling big hogs out of this quality water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Becoming my everyday jacket I got this jacket a month ago and although I have always prefered down, I think I'm changing my mind as I live and hike in wet conditions. This jacket has kept me warm is surprisingly light and has so far stood up to pretty tough conditions. It fit slightly larger for me (Medium) so I can layer as much as I like underneath and not have issues. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
