The Marmot Women's Kristina Jacket is a waterproof, insulated jacket for the worst winters in the city. This mid-thigh length jacket features GORE-TEX 2L fabric, your first defense against the winter, which prevents wind, rain, and snow from getting inside. Your next defense is 700 fill power recycled down, powering your upper half against the cold temperatures. Rounding out the rest of the defenses are the insulated hood, micro fleece internal cuffs and handwarmer pockets.
Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.
Garments made with GORE-TEX® fabric are durably waterproof, windproof and highly breathable, providing reliable weather protection and maximum comfort for a wide range of activities. These garments keep your body dry by allowing perspiration vapor to escape so you remain cool during activity and warm during cool-down.
Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Perfect Stylish Winter Jacket!I bought this jacket to brave a New York City winter, and I am so HAPPY that I did. It is stylish and crazy warm, without being a bulky "puffy jacket." I am 5'6" and it hits a little below mid thigh - so it is the PERFECT length. Also love that the magnet closure hides the zipper! Only small critique is that the zipper sometimes sticks and is tricky to zip one handed. Overall, would absolutely buy this jacket again and recommend to friends & family!

Perfect Winter Coat[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I search all over and tried on about 25, mostly higher end coats including NorthFace, Columbia, Woolrich, Obermeyer, Raulph Lauren, and this one came out on top. Some things come down to personal preference and style. I was looking for something that would be genuinely warm in rough winters (We are in Toledo, and I am always cold). This coat has great wind protection and is insulated throughout including the hood. It is so light compared to other coats (no packable light but relatively light). It is more comfortable than lots of other coats and has a minimalist Lululemon look.

Warm and CozyI just got this jacket in black yesterday and had been swooning over it for weeks before I bit the bullet. Already here in Buffalo we have had snow changing to rain in the last 24 hours so I have had the perfect weather to test out this jacket. This morning while I was leaving for work it was 29°F out and I didn't feel the wind or cold at all. At work I was showing a coworker my jacket and we wanted to compare his jacket's waterproofing to mine. We ran the arms of our jackets under water for roughly 4 minutes. His, having a DWR treatment, started to permeate the outer shell and soak. The Goretex left my coat totally dry. We were both impressed. Before purchasing this jacket I didn't see it in person so I didn't really have a good idea of all the little features. Here are some of note:
The zipper itself is two way waterproof. It is extremely smooth and I have no issues whatsoever aligning and using it. In addition there are two stormflaps that lay over it and are secured with magnets. This lends a sleek look to the jacket as most other jackets use snaps which can wear over time.
The hood is adjustable so it can be cinched down during exceptionally bad weather. The adjusters aren't the toggle kind with an internal spring, they are the slide up wedge variety which works well.
There are no cuff adjusters so keep that in mind. This isn't a problem for me because I typically never used any sort of adjustment prior on casual coats but I know for others this would be valuable info to consider.
The bottom hem does not adjust or cinch. Again, this isn't an issue for me but I know others would find it extremely important and a deal breaker.
There isn't a waist cinch.
As far as fit, I am a 14/16 with big hips. I chose the XL to be able to layer with a midweight fleece. I do find that the jacket does run extremely true to size. The look of the jacket is sleek while giving you the warmth of a puffy without feeling like you're the Michelin man.
The pockets on the font are zippered, lined, and very substantial- large enough to place a larger cell phone in, your wallet, an extra hat, gloves, leash, or fairly larger items. This for me guaranteed this jacket was a keeper- I can throw in some handwarmers and mosey about outside for hours.
I am not in love with the hood cinching situation. Pulling the draw cords leaves the loops in your chin and face and there isn't a place to tuck them in.
Lining the collar with the same fleece that line the cuffs would've been such a nice touch. I have a neck buff so I can happily make do without it being a concern but for version 2.0 it'd be so nice!

Not great for petitesI love Marmot but this style didn't work for me. I'm 5'1, 110 lbs, more apple than pear shaped, and I ordered a small. The bottom comes out like a bell and was not flattering! The collar/hood also seemed ridiculous on me. This may be a better coat for the taller set.

Fantastic Winter Coat[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift for my 17-year-old daughter and she loves it. We do a lot of winter sports and are up in the mountains constantly VT, CO, UT. She thinks the jacket is sleek and stylish. Most importantly she told me it keeps her very warm while walking around town. Gore-Tex keeps the wet snow/cold rain from getting in. I appreciate the fact Marmot makes jackets in a wide range of sizes. My daughter is 5'3" right around 100 lbs, and very petite. The XS fits well with just the right amount of room. She'll get years of use out of this jacket. Definitely recommend!

Dry and warm! This is my favorite coat of all time.
I work outside everyday, so in the winter it gets pretty cold. This jacket is no joke. Keeps me so dry and warm. Waterproof and wind resistant!
The hood is also insulated with down, which is so nice when it’s snowing! I like the design where it sort of looks layered. Cinched waist gives it a feminine look. A small but awesome detail is how soft and warm the inside of the pocket is. It’s a treat to put my hands in there when it gets cold! I have made so many people put their hand in the pocket so they can see how soft it is.

Very water repellent and warm[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this coat this past fall as a late fall/early winter coat. My other Marmot parka is not waterproof and becomes very heavy when wet. The Kristina jacket is highly water repellent and stands up to heavy winds. Overall I really like this coat. The only thing I would suggest is ordering a size down since its rather bulky.

Both Thrilled and Deeply Disappointed! This jacket is everything it should be ... with one MAJOR design flaw. It is comfortable, warm even in sub-zero (F) temperatures, and waterproof. I love everything about it, except the zipper. The zipper is ridiculously flimsy for such a superior-quality garment.
When I was considering the purchase, I noted other reviewers' complaints about the zipper. I was concerned, but the end-of-season discounted price was just so attractive that I decided to buy anyway. After a long debate on its pros and cons, I'm keeping the garment -- but hiring a professional tailor to replace its zipper with one that functions properly. If I had paid full price, I would have immediately returned it!
Marmot, if you offer this garment again next season, PLEASE construct it with a sturdier zipper!
