The Marmot Women's Montreaux Coat is a long length winter coat for walking the city, getting to work, or bustling around with credit card in hand. The coat covers you with 700 fill power down from head to knee, with a Down Defender treatment on the down, making the feathers water resistant against melting snow. The outside fabric is soft to the touch, durable, and also water resistant to take on the unpredictable winter weather. The angled baffles not only keep a feminine shape, but prevent the down from moving and shifting around, lessening cold spots. The interior of the jacket is lined with a plush fleece torso and micro fleece cuffs, bolstering the overall warmth and softness. The hood is filled with down so your head won't lose heat, worn with or without the fur, and can be removed completely from the jacket for a whole new style on warmer days. Snuggle in this winter.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Marmot Down Defender

Marmot Down Defender
Marmot Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping when exposed to water or moisture. This allows it to keep its loft, which equates to greater insulation. Nothing will stop the specially treated, highly water-resistant down from trapping warm air next to your body.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chicago Strong! I am delighted with this purchase, you get what you pay for, that's for sure. I was hesitant when I read a review that said this coat sheds feathers, but I have not had that experience. The Chicago cold usually keeps me indoors, I stop walking my dog in November and start up again in May but this year is different--the length ensures warmth; wind doesn't have a chance to sneak in from the bottom like with shorter coats. I originally bought the Montreal Coat and tested it by taking my dog around the block. Nope. I returned it for the Montreaux and I had a winner. I am 5'6, 130 lbs, and the Medium fits me perfectly. My dog is a happy camper!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm in Frigid NYC Weather I just tested the coat in frigid NYC weather. It's incredibly warm despite its light weight, even in windy conditions. The outside material is soft and has a matte finish, which I prefer to the ridiculous shiny look, and the fleece lining is delightfully soft. Some reviewers feel the hood is too large, but I found it fit perfectly over my favorite hat. The coat offers more coverage and higher quality down than competitors in the same price range. As someone who is always cold, I'm very glad I bought this coat! I highly recommend it for people who want to be warm and stylish in blustery conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great value Marmot always delivers great quality and this is no exception.   It does run small on top I'm 5'4" and needed an XL to fit properly in the shoulders. Its a little big in the body but there's room for a swearer.  When it's cold and windy I do need an extra sweater but I'm always the coldest person in the room.  The hood is really big and a little drafty.  I folded back the fur and it's fine.  I unfolded it when it snowed and it kept the snow out.  The length is perfect below the knee but not so long that I'm tripping over it.   Overall a good coat. My partner tried it on and bought one for herself.  She's very pleased too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coat is warm, comfortable and stylish. I bought it in black (not jet black) and the color is great. I like its matte texture because it doesn't look like a black garbage bag. The length is great, too. I'm 5' 6" and the coat comes down to my knees, so I'm well covered when I sit on a cold car seat. My only complaints about the coat are the sleeves are about an inch too short (but I do have long arms) and the zipper can be kind of temperamental, but neither issue is so bad to warrant returning it. This is my first Marmot coat and I'm very satisfied with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super snug I've just purchased this and already I'm in love with it. The first winter coat I've ever owned that doesn't need four plus layers to keep me warm. Added to that, it's very stylish and flattering. I did find a big difference between the medium and large - I thought the medium might be a little too tight at first, but the large was really baggy in the back and I was advised it needed to fit well to be effective so I took a chance on the medium and I'm glad I did. I'm 5ft 4in and weigh considerably more than some of the other reviewers, but the medium is fine. I suppose it depends on your overall weight distribution. Hood is also fine for me. Only problem is how cold my legs are below knee!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, cozy and extremely comfortable. I had been looking a very long time for a warm, flattering winter coat. I was trying to decide between the Montreaux and the Montreal realizing the length was the only difference. I choose the longer Montreaux to keep my legs warm, but this jacket could be an awkward length on shorter women. I am 5 foot 8 inches and it falls right at my knee. I tried on both the small and the medium (I am 130 lbs) and I found the small too constrictive at my chest and shoulders. The sleeve length on the small was also too short for me. The jacket is very warm, and sooooooo comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat, one concern I bought this coat about a month ago and it has really done the job for keeping me warm on pre-dawn and post sunset dog walks. After reading reviews I decided to go with my normal size small (5’5”, 135). It fits well with room for a mid weight sweatshirt/sweater layer. I do have narrow shoulders, so it might be a little too snug for others in that area. My one area of concern is the zipper. It can be hard to line up, and if it is not perfect, the top zipper will not go up. I am worried that it may not last. Except for that, I definitely recommend this coat, especially for anyone outside for any length of time in sub zero weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I like that you can layer things with this or just wear a long sleeved shirt. The sleeves have an elastic thing around the wrist so it feels like you’re wearing an extra Shirt. I also really like that the interior of the jacket is lined with fleece. I’m 5 foot 10 and this goes down to about 3 inches above my knee. For someone short, it might be be too long. As others have said, there is limited visibility when you have the hood up with the fur around it. If this bothers you, take the fur off. I wore it in 38 degree rain the other day and it was pretty water resistant. It dried quickly with no smell. Very happy with my purchase.
