Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snug fit, excellent for Snug fit, excellent for layering. warm and breathable. For me, 6' 200 lbs muscular, the size large is cut very nice, although my intent is to use it as a warm baselayer/very light midlayer. If you want to wear anything in under this it would have to be very low volume. (150g wool is ideal) This piece will be coming with me on every spring climb this year. Marmot makes the best use of this new fabric (polartec power dry high efficiency) that I have seen yet. For anyone unfamiliar with the fabric, imagine a lighter, more breathable, and slightly cooler version of patagonia R1. For an overheater such as myself, it is a prayer answered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design flaw... I think this jacket protects from the rain and wind pretty well but it is not completely waterproof and you will get wet after a certain saturation point. It does look good on and fits as expected, however, I have found a serious design flaw. The "sticky" side of the velcro is on the same side as the embroidered Marmot logo so now my logo is all fuzzy because the thread has been pulled by the velcro. I attached a picture - this is even after I've trimmed the fuzzy threads multiple times. I'd think the company would want to preserve the logo as we are all walking advertisements for Marmot after purchasing these products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite rain jacket I have had two of these jacket. My first one was stolen after many years of use. I just replaced it and I am so glad that I did! I have used this thing in DOWNPOURS in New Zealand and India and it has kept me dry. It packs small into its own pockets and weighs in at just over 9 oz which I appreciate for backpacking. The fit on the jacket is comfortable and flattering. I am 5’5, weigh about 130 and wear a medium. I can fit my ultralight puffy underneath this jacket making it a great layering system piece. Definitely one of my favorite pieces of clothing gear! I will be taking this piece on the thru hike of the PCT this season!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just about right. I have earlier versions of Marmot jackets and love the way the hood is SECURED into the collar. This Precip jacket is untidy and leaves a lot to be desired with the hood. Please secure it more neatly. The bottom hem is too tight - and I'm not overweight. When I need to layer it is way too tight. Love the pit zips and adjustable cuffs. The sleeve length is a bit long but great when layering. Again, the tight hem seems really weird - is this a defect?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine, not really designed for women I've only worn this in real rain once so far, but it did perform well. Love the color (desert red). I do wish the hood were deeper. It would be fine if I had short hair, but with a pony tail in back -- pretty typical hiking hair for many women -- it is borderline. I am on the edge between sizes, and the first one I ordered (M) was too small. Large fits, but again, the lower hem seems to assume I will have straight hips and is therefore a bit snugger than I'd expect given the overall fit of the raincoat. (I'm on the curvy side but not outside of ordinary.) I gather the men's version of this coat is a real hit, but I think Marmot could do better at designing the women's version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfy waterproof jacket I ordered a medium and I’m on the curvy side, from the reviews I was afraid Marmot didn’t make clothes for a Latina figure but I was wrong ! I ordered the medium and fits perfect ! lose enough to wear a thermal underneath. California has decided to have seasons, rain, cold, wind in the past weeks. I needed a rain jacket ASAP and I just liked the look on this one . I tried a couple of other brands but didn’t like the way they felt. The only thing I don’t like is all the wrinkles but I do like how thin it is . The fit is perfect. Super light . I don’t feel sweaty and it doesn’t add an ounce to my backpack when I hike .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! I needed a new rain jacket and I went straight to Marmot to get it. I purchased my prior Marmot jacket from my local EMS 6 years ago and I wore it almost everyday during the in-between seasons (Spring, Fall) and it never failed to keep the rain out. Its lightweight, durable and keeps wind and rain out. Its not cumbersome or thick, and folds easily in my arms or in my bag for when I'm at a baseball game or any sporting event!  I'm 5'3 and "apple-shaped", I could have fit into a small, but I ordered a Medium because I like to wear sweaters under the jacket and a Medium allows that. My only tiny qualm with the new and improved version of this Marmot Women's PreCip Jacket is that it has more of a feminine shape- meaning its cut more on the sides and a little bit more on the shoulders. My prior jacket in Medium had more room, for instance when I had it zipped I could sit down without feeling self conscious.   Either way, i think Marmot is a great company. They build wearable material to last and description speaks true to the product. Its definitely rain and wind proof!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good We bought a Marmot Women's PreCip jacket, size Small color Platinum, for our daughter for Christmas. She has only had the chance to wear it a couple of times during some drizzle, but she reports that it does a great job keeping her dry. It's lightweight, stylishly cut, beautiful color, and some neat features like the underarm vents and stow-away hood. The only drawback is in exchange for the stylish cut and nice fit, our daughter probably can not layer anything too heavy underneath...even a regular fleece jacket will probably be too thick. But for a rainy day that isn't too cold, this is perfect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
