Marmot Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping when exposed to water or moisture. This allows it to keep its loft, which equates to greater insulation. Nothing will stop the specially treated, highly water-resistant down from trapping warm air next to your body.

Better than My Northface Parks![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Went to Austria Christmas Markets and it was so cold and windy! However this was the best purchase I made gor the trip! I was warm and toasty the entire time. And… It is a light coat but warm and I was able to stuff it in a Ziploc when inside. Its not considered a packable coat but it folds nicely into your backpack or suitcase easily!!! The green color is beautiful! So many compliments!

A 4 Plus Rating from Me[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really great parka. Warm in the 20-30’s and even lower temperatures with 2-3 layers. What I look for: warmth✔️casually stylish ✔️2 drop pockets✔️2 secure zipper pockets✔️inner cinch at waist to pull in the bulk if wanted✔️2-way zipper✔️storm flap over zipper✔️adjustable hood✔️cuffs at bottom of sleeves✔️water repellent ✔️and very importantly a “Better” environmental impact report card!
My only suggestions to get a 5plus rating would be to improve the hood closing… will need a scarf/buff on cool windy days. Include a small interior zip pocket. And lastly make the sleeve cuff a sturdier knit. I’m 5’3” and length hit just above my knee, perfect. At 138lbs and a DD chest, I went with the medium. Plenty of room to layer without looking sloppy. I bought the military green. It’s a pretty medium green, not a dull olive. This is a winner! I am super happy with my purchase. Nice job Marmot.

Money well spentLove this parka, it's exactly what I was looking for. The is design is impeccable. I especially love the cuffs having a soft fleece under the shell fabric and also four total pockets to zip my bus pass away securely. Great quality for it being so light weight and also keeping me warm in 20degree weather. I ordered the black, size medium so I could have extra room for layers underneath. I'm 5'1, size 2-4 typically and the coat hits right at my knees making it a good length for us petite women. I hope more colors are released eventually, I'd love a beige!

Nice but missing s few things.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a light and warm parka. I like the length. Amazing feel and style. I haven’t tried it in really cold climate but I have a few pointers. It doesn’t close right around the neck so I assume one better be wearing a scarf or something. The hood doesn’t tie down.
I love thé fit and wish it had inner pocket. I might return but I haven’t decided yet.
I would consider it as casual wear.

Best Purchase[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t tell you how many times this winter I’ve said “this jacket is the best purchase I’ve made all year”. It’s warm, stylish, and fits great. I’m 5’7 150lbs ish and I ended up getting a small. There’s enough room to wear layers underneath without it being too bulky. Best long jacket for chilly dog walks, plus I love the pockets!

Great winter basic[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coat is perfect for winter. It is very roomy- which I like because I like to be able to add layers when it is colder. It you want a more fitted look, I would size down at least 1 size. The pockets are deep and snap closed, so they are great for holding a phone. I use this coat for walking my dogs, and love having pockets for gloves, my phone, keys etc. So far, it has been a good level of warmth for Chicago winters. If it's in the teens or lower, I will add a fleece underneath.

Awesome and warm[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this coat. Bought just in time for our weird Southern California weather.
I spend a lot of time outside as a sports photographer, and this keeps me warm on the field- before I was wearing a mid weight coat with a swim parka over that!
Love the roominess and pockets, and hood that doubles as a neck warmer.

Copper XS[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so happy with this jacket! The color is a little more muted in person but still nice! It is light weight, warm and cozy. I need the XS for my shoulders and upper body. But I don’t like when jackets are snug on my middle (I have a little tummy from having had twins) - this one has room. It’s just all around a very comfortable jacket! For reference,
I’m 5’5” and 120 pounds.
