The Marmot Women's WarmCube Active Novus Hoody is an insulated jacket for active adventures into the cold. You're moving fast in the mountains, so while you need extra insulation against the cold, you're still going to warm up pretty quick. In steps this jacket to solve those temperature issues, trapping heat in the 3D WarmCube construction with the help of 40g PrimaLoft Black Eco insulation. The 100% nylon ripstop stretch fabric exterior is all about stretching and bending to your body's will, so you won't be restricted while pushing your way to the top.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Improvements are needed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So for a pricey jacket like this there should be an external chest pocket and a drawstring hood at the very least. There should also be an internal zipper pocket for this price. I usually wear a medium but I'm glad I went a size up to a large. I ordered the green, which looks WAY more yellow in the picture, but it is definitely more along the lines of army olive drab. I like the fit and that it has a hood but definitely should have a drawstring hood. I'm on the fence about keeping it. I don't think the value is there for the money and there are probably better options for the money. I'll be investigating before I decide to keep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm but breathable First of all, I think it’s a great looking jacket! Then it comes the fact that I’m never too hot in it. I’ve recently used it ski touring as well and since it was a really cold day, I kept all the way and never overheated. It’s also my go to layer when rock climbing. I wear it in between burns so my body doesn’t get cold and it works wonders. Love all the colors.

I live in the south so it is not super cold here, but it kept me warm when the temperature got to freezing. It also held up well to gusty, cold wind. It is comfortable. I like the color combination.

My previous down jacket of 15 years was looking tattered and I needed a replacement. This is even better than that, and even slimmer with equal warmth. I need something for 35 to 45 Fahrenheit. The green color is lovely. (I think it looked more yellow in the photos.)
