Marmot WarmCube Insulation

Marmot WarmCube
WarmCube technology is an innovative design that takes your down or synthetic insulation to the next level. Whether it's inside a jacket or sleeping bag, WarmCube construction will warm you up faster when compared to traditional horizontal baffles. The plush 3D cubes mold to the body, create channels of warm air between the cubes to boost thermal efficiency, and also keep your insulation from shifting around to prevent cold spots. It's like you're wearing an igloo that's super duper comfortable.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it.. but I don't love it~! I live in North Carolina, so it's not THAT cold here.. but I hate being cold so I invested in this jacket. So far, I'm really enjoying the warmth that it generates with my own body heat. I was hoping for that swishy, smooth material I've seen in other puffy jackets, but it's definitely not as soft as I hoped for on the outside. This could be due to the water-resistant material.. so I'm OK with that. The inside is softer than the outside. I do wish it had drawstrings to pull it in more for a tighter fit. My only concern is about the durability of the zippers as they don't seem to be made well. I'm 5'8 155lbs and I ordered a Large. Fits perfectly, with extra room for movement or layers underneath.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap zipper I really want to love this coat. I do love the way it feels - it’s warm and cozy to wear. I run very cold and I stay warm in it. I love the length and the waterproof outer layer. But, the zipper is so bad I’ve contemplated returning it several times - it’s super cheap and way too thin for such a heavy duty coat. I’ve misthreaded it multiple times and it’s also split on me once already. I also really wish, because of the length of the coat, that it unzipped from the bottom, too. Without that option, it’s awkward to sit in the coat when it’s zipped up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's warm, but... I live in Interior Alaska, so a very warm winter jacket is a must. I ordered the WarmCube Havenmeyer jacket after returning another name brand coat that wasn't warm enough for this climate. This jacket is plenty warm and I like the durable outer. There are three things I don't like that would have been a combined dealbreaker if I was not in need of a warm jacket immediately: 1) As someone else mentioned, the zipper does not seem to be well made. This is the smallest, chintziest zipper I've seen on a jacket in a long time. It's already split on me once - I am going to be very disappointed if the zipper breaks and it seems like it could 2) No inside pocket! I get that this coat has the special cube design, but they couldn't find a place for even a tiny zipper pocket? I haven't had a jacket without an inside pocket in 20 years. You don't realize how much you use an inside pocket until you no longer have one. 3) I wear my hood all of the time. I can feel the elastic that tightens the hood, through the fabric, across both of my ears when the hood is up. I don't like that feeling. In summary, this jacket is warm, but it has some design flaws. It is no more remarkable than any other winter jacket and is certainly not worth the premium price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE BEST COAT FOR NEW YORK WINTERS This is one of the best coats I’ve ever owned. This is not a jacket this is a coat. Perfect for New York winters. I normally am a x-small but I got a size small for a little extra room. New York weather at its coldest can be 20- 0 degrees. This coat has kept me so warm the this winter I’ve felt over dressed. The rain and snow doesn’t effect the coat’s beauty or warmth. My only con is that some feathers come out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Warm for the Coldest Days [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent warmth, the warmest coat I have ever had. When you wear it outdoors you stay perfectly warm in the coldest weather. When you're in a heated area you will want to slip it off as it gets pretty warm. I ordered a size up solely because it was mail-order, and I shouldn't have. It is true to size. Even if layering underneath, which you don't need to do anyway. Hood is also a good size and shape, which doesn't blow off or obstruct your view. Only drawback is the zipper. I find the coat to be great quality, but the zipper seems poorly constructed. It is difficult to zip with a too-short end to engage and has opened up from the bottom a few times if not completely seated in the catch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality LUX This jacket is fabulous! I had been looking for a low hip length down jacket that was water resistant for my hikes in the forest. This is a grab and go anywhere jacket; it is both warm and stylish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm! I absolutely LOVE my new winter jacket. It is super warm. It’s long enough to cover and keep my butt warm but not be cumbersome when driving. My only complaint is that there are only two pockets. I wish there were additional pockets for things like keys or cellphone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! Love this jacket! Perfect length and it is so warm and lightweight. I live in a mid-Atlantic climate so we don’t have super cold winters, but it can be cold and very windy. On the few cold days we have had so far this winter, it has kept me toasty warm.

Are there any interior pockets?

Asked by: Annie G
Great question! We physically checked this Jacket and the only pockets included are the two exterior handwarmer pockets.
