Excellent walking shoesFirst, I will say that I was having pain in one foot when walking/exercizing due to a bunion. I did some online research on which shoe is best for people with bunions. This shoe was identified. I can say I now walk with absolutely no pain. Love these shoes, and other Merrell shoes I have purchased in recent weeks.
My only negative is the shoe laces are not the best. I walked on untied laces for a short distance and destroyed one of them (my fault, really -- always should stop and tie your shoes if they become untied). But my 2nd "chat" with Merrell resulted in the company willingly sending me a replacement pair of laces at no charge.

Shoes are not balanced. Cause Pain.I am a long-time Merrell fan. I was excited when I saw these shoes at my local shoe store. They fit well and tried on well.
After my first day of wearing them I experience some discomfort in my left foot which I attributed to breaking in the shoe.
However, I have now worn them for over a month. After each wear I experience pain running up my left leg lasting for up to 12 hours, foot, knee, and hip (if I have worn them all day). It is always the left shoe causing the issue as I have had no issues with the right shoe and experience no pain in my right leg / foot after wear.
This is not an issue I have experienced with other shoes. I am disappointed.

GREAT SHOE!These are such a perfect sneaker. They have just the right blend of retro cool without looking silly. They fit well. They accommodate swapping out footbeds for my own custom one. They feel great. There are so many fun colors, I wish I could buy them all. They add a pop of color and fun to an outfit. And they can be worn with anything from jeans to short to even chinos. They fit true to Merrell sizing (which for me, means I buy a half-size smaller than my size in running shoes). I just love these shoes. Merrell, please don't mess with them, just keep giving us more and more color combos. In fact, allowing customization and an all-white pair would be the only thing I would suggest!

Stylish shoe but a longer than expectedI have been wearing Merrell casual shoes and boots for nearly two decades and have always found the shoes to fit true to size (roomier toe boxes for casual shoes and more snug fit for boots), but I find this newcomer to the lineup is quite a bit longer than expected. I didn't fully realize this when I took the shoes out of the box but after a few days of walking on asphalt and trails, I wished that I would have gone down a half size. While the color style I selected is unusually identified as "Ebony," it is actually navy blue contrasted with light blue with Merrell orange accents--a splashy color scheme that complements the Euro-retro style of a sharp-looking Alpine sneaker.

Perfect SneakerJust got these a few days ago. Immediately comfortable. Gross but my feet sweat a lot and these are breathable and don't get too hot. A lot of sneakers look ridiculous on me because my feet are huge, but the design of these is so cool and classic that I can pull off even the louder color scheme. The toothy sole gives you a hint of the planted step you'd feel in more rugged footwear but these are perfect for street walking/jogging as well. And the stitched mesh side panels look awesome all while keeping your feet cool. These are dope and I hope they stay around for a long time!

Not PNW friendly but comfortableOne major flaw - and it’s a big one.
Let me start by saying these shoes are mega-comfortable. I love how they fit, i love how they feel, i don’t like how other shoes feel anymore and it’s these shoes fault.
However, on to the major flaw: these shoes are ultra slippery when walking on wet surfaces. Forget walking in the rain. I was walking down a flight of stairs and took a tumble. I cut my face on the way down but luckily that was the only damage done.
Please be cautious while you are wearing these shoes. They do not mix well with water. Enjoy them on a sunny day.

Excellent comfort and style[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these after a last minute realization that I didn’t have any rugged shoes to take out into the deserts and trails of the American Southwest. I liked the vintage hiker look and they seemed to fit well so I made my purchase and flew out to Vegas a few days later. I proceeded to wear them for multiple short hikes through Arches, Bryce Canyon, The Valley of Fire, etc. I was never disappointed once. They are just a pair of shoes however and I don’t think they’d ever replace a sturdy pair of hiking boots, but for short excursions over a little rough terrain they’ll do quite nicely.

Retro look and retro fit-ugh!Retro look with a crappy Retro fit! walking with these feels like standing on a pair of old school 204 cm slalom skis! Super narrow foot bed with no cushion. Shoes reminded me of old Nike Cortez, but I thought that Merrell would up date an old style with new technology!! BUT NO!
