High hopes, then disappointedLoved these sandals and they were great for a couple of months. Very comfortable and seemed durable. To be fair the straps and Vibram outsole are very durable. Unfortunately, it seems the adhesive holding things together isn’t. I’ve only had these for a few months and haven’t really done anything heavy duty in them (just walks, and a couple times in small rivers). On one sandal the sole separated from the upper. And on the other the front part of the straps came out of where they connect to the sole. With both of them you can see that the adhesive has come apart or failed. Still think they’re great sandals. Just hope that Merrell can fix this issue. They’d be a 5 star if they lasted longer.

What happed to Merrell?I used to love Merrell sandals. They were comfortable, durable, and nice looking. Taking off on a long sail trip, I purchased two new pairs. One pair failed almost immediately, and the second failed in less than 6 months. In both cases, the adhesive failed. I am assuming they changed manufacturers. They may be saving money, nut Merrell is losing its good reputation.

Poor sandals from what use to be a great company.I got these as a gift and in less than three months the adhesive failed that held the front strap in place, which I am reading is a common occurrence. I asked for Merrell's because I owned a pair that lasted ten years! Now I look at the latest lineup and am really disappointed. Everything looks cheap, and reviews are of awful quality and workmanship.

Too narrow for my footI was super excited about these sandals because the weight is low, the tread is super grippy, and the strap system is minimal and technical. Also they don't use the thong sandal fixture like Bedrocks do, nor are they chonky like Chacos.
Unfortunately when I put them on, the width of the straps across my toes and forefoot was way too narrow. I wore them around the house all day and my smallest toes got crunched.
I'm a size 11.5 and went with the size 11, which was the perfect length, but as mentioned the width was not right for me. If your feet are normal width or even narrow width, these will probably work out great!
I've gone a different direction and will be returning them, but they shipped quickly and look cool! :)

Sole separated from footbedThese were just what I was looking for to get in and out of my kayak. Sad that the sole separated from the footbed after only a few times in the water.

Take them everywhere!I've taken these sandals everywhere there could be water! Used them all summer and into the fall, they hold up great and mud cleans off the straps pretty easily, and the traction is no joke, the treads are quite deep for sandals, if anyone is looking for a quality pair to get you through everything, get these!

The didn't hold upI liked them at first, but they fell apart after minimal use. (Maybe 20 days on the river. Only worn walking from the vehicle to the raft and back.) I've gotten more durability from no-name sandals.

Great for light duty watery activitiesEasy to slip on and off by loosening the heel strap - with no need to readjust the front or vamp straps. This is really convenient.
Webbing straps are not the most comfortable and don't necessarily hold the foot exactly centered in the foot-bed. (Feet may slide forward.)
Over-tightening the front strap to stop foot movement could create pressure on the hallux metatarsal phalangeal (MTP) joint.
Sole tread is effective.
I wouldn't wear them all day but they are great for my purposes.
