Not GoodThese shoes have virtually no arch-support. If you have low arches, they are incredibly painful to walk in them. I had to replace the insoles, and that made a world of difference. But the biggest problem with these shoes is the lack of grip. They are only good on bare and dry terrain. As soon as it's wet out, it's as though the shoes are covered in oil. You have to be hyper-cognizant of every step you take. God-forbid you have to walk on wet concrete, or be out in the rain on a wet trail ever. If you want these for cold-weather, don't even bother. As soon as it gets close to freezing temps, the sole freezes up and provides zero-traction whatsoever.

Squeaky!! Feel like materials were not properly secured. .I've worn MOABs for years. But the past two pair I've purchased (including this most recent pair) are "squeaky" right out of the box. Not just a cute little mouse variety squeak, but a full on flatulant-mimiking SQUEAK! Not sure if the materials are no longer being fastened properly anymore or just a decrease in quality control, but the noise is so distracting it gets comments from other people walking in the same hallway. I stopped wearing them. Sending them back. Don't get me wrong, "functionally" they're still some of the best shoes around, but Merrell needs to address this issue as I am not the only one writing reviews about this.

Merrell fit has gone downhill - very disappointedI purchased these to replace my old Merrell All Out Blaze walking shoes, which fitted perfectly from day one and were very comfortable.
Unfortunately Merrell has changed the shape so that it the toe box is very tight and so low that the shoe presses down on my the nails of my big toes. They felt ok at first, but after 10+ miles in them they have just become more and more uncomfortable. This is so sad, since Merrell used to make very comfortable walking shoes.
I am very disappointed in this change of shoe design, and will not buy Merrell again Now I have to seek out another make of good walking shoes.

Fantastic shoe!I bought a pair of waterproof Moab 2 Waterproof shoes a couple of years ago. I don't use them for hiking, but more for daily wear. They have been fantastic! One great thing is the durability. They are holding up great. The soles are much, much tougher wearing than the competitor's shoes they replaced. Over time, the insoles mold to your foot, providing more comfort and support. My only real issue has been that over time, they seem to have lost their waterproofness. If I wear them with dew on the grass, the toes of my socks end up soaked through. That's kind of a bummer because that is exactly why I paid extra for the waterproof version.

Moab Ventilator Has A Change In Design...Beware!!I have been wearing Moab Ventilators for many years. They were my go to shoe and I have 4 different shoes now in the rotation. My recent purchase has been returned. The design change from 4 cloth eyelets and 2 inserted eyelets to 4 and 1 coupled with reducing the tongue length from 6 inches to 5 inches was a bad one. The shoe does not fit as snug. It feels like your foot wants to come out of the shoe. I am not sure why anyone would want to detract from a perfect shoe. Cost savings? I cannot believe that reviews would say to reduce eyelets and the length of the tongue as I was told by customer service. I will try a competitor.

Disappointing FitThis is my 3rd pair of Merrells, but my first pair of the MOAB. I had 2 pairs of the Chameleon 3, they had a narrow heel and wide toe box, which I loved. I put about 3000 miles on them and they recently bit the dust. Merrell has severly downgraded the Chameleon - No Vibram soles or metal lace hooks. They are trying to push everyone to the MOAB. The MOAB seems good quality, but the fit is terrible. The whole shoe is wide, no matter how tight I lace them. My heel seems to slide up at every step. No, I did not accidentally buy the wide and yes I have the right size. I don't buy hiking shoes based on fashion, but these are also really ugly.
Needless to say... I'll be returning them.

Great Fit, Very ComfortableNow, I'm not saying I have flipper feet or that I'm an "excellent swimmer", but dang if I don't appreciate a shoe that doesn't feel like it's trying to bind my feet. Also, I wear them out for walks and don't have any heel pinching (you know that feeling when the shoe is trying to cut into your Achilles? I don't have that). No rubbing or blistering. And when I wear them at work (which is mostly sitting), I don't feel like my feet are too hot. So, all around, I just like these shoes. I'd been trying to find something that didn't, at least, annoy me for a long time and instead, I finally found something that I actually liked.

Great shoe, comfortable, good fit I LOVE it except!!!I'm very displeased with your auto untie feature! You give no instruction on how to turn it off. Tie the lace very gently and in 8 or 10 minutes of walking -- shoe is untied. Tie the lace very tight and in 8 or 10 minutes and the ties (both) are loose. Very, very aggravating!!!
So really -- do I have to double tie the loops (on the bow tie) so I don't have to keep retieing. Back in the 50's my mommy might have done that cause when we were at hard play they might untie!!!
So please send me directions on how to turn off the auto untie feature or maybe a pair of real laces.
While the tie is holding I do LOVE these shoes. I would rate them a 5!
