Product Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Good These shoes have virtually no arch-support. If you have low arches, they are incredibly painful to walk in them. I had to replace the insoles, and that made a world of difference. But the biggest problem with these shoes is the lack of grip. They are only good on bare and dry terrain. As soon as it's wet out, it's as though the shoes are covered in oil. You have to be hyper-cognizant of every step you take. God-forbid you have to walk on wet concrete, or be out in the rain on a wet trail ever. If you want these for cold-weather, don't even bother. As soon as it gets close to freezing temps, the sole freezes up and provides zero-traction whatsoever.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Squeaky!! Feel like materials were not properly secured. . I've worn MOABs for years. But the past two pair I've purchased (including this most recent pair) are "squeaky" right out of the box. Not just a cute little mouse variety squeak, but a full on flatulant-mimiking SQUEAK! Not sure if the materials are no longer being fastened properly anymore or just a decrease in quality control, but the noise is so distracting it gets comments from other people walking in the same hallway. I stopped wearing them. Sending them back. Don't get me wrong, "functionally" they're still some of the best shoes around, but Merrell needs to address this issue as I am not the only one writing reviews about this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Merrell fit has gone downhill - very disappointed I purchased these to replace my old Merrell All Out Blaze walking shoes, which fitted perfectly from day one and were very comfortable. Unfortunately Merrell has changed the shape so that it the toe box is very tight and so low that the shoe presses down on my the nails of my big toes. They felt ok at first, but after 10+ miles in them they have just become more and more uncomfortable. This is so sad, since Merrell used to make very comfortable walking shoes. I am very disappointed in this change of shoe design, and will not buy Merrell again Now I have to seek out another make of good walking shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic shoe! I bought a pair of waterproof Moab 2 Waterproof shoes a couple of years ago. I don't use them for hiking, but more for daily wear. They have been fantastic! One great thing is the durability. They are holding up great. The soles are much, much tougher wearing than the competitor's shoes they replaced. Over time, the insoles mold to your foot, providing more comfort and support. My only real issue has been that over time, they seem to have lost their waterproofness. If I wear them with dew on the grass, the toes of my socks end up soaked through. That's kind of a bummer because that is exactly why I paid extra for the waterproof version.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Moab Ventilator Has A Change In Design...Beware!! I have been wearing Moab Ventilators for many years. They were my go to shoe and I have 4 different shoes now in the rotation. My recent purchase has been returned. The design change from 4 cloth eyelets and 2 inserted eyelets to 4 and 1 coupled with reducing the tongue length from 6 inches to 5 inches was a bad one. The shoe does not fit as snug. It feels like your foot wants to come out of the shoe. I am not sure why anyone would want to detract from a perfect shoe. Cost savings? I cannot believe that reviews would say to reduce eyelets and the length of the tongue as I was told by customer service. I will try a competitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Awesome Merrill Moab boots!!! These boots are AWESOME!!! I'm a 70 year old woman and we live in the mountains in Oregon's coast range. I HAVE BUNIONS!!! I can never find shoes or boots that fit well and feel good for any length of time. These water proof Merrill Moab 2 are just the ticket! While we're still waiting on the usual rain for this time of year I have hiked all over our vast property comfortably and dry. I did buy the inserts for these boots to give them a little extra footbed power and boy, are they ever comfortable. Can't say enough positive about them. Thank you, Merrill, for both pair of my wide width boots!!! I also bought the non-waterproof Moab for "dress". :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing Fit This is my 3rd pair of Merrells, but my first pair of the MOAB. I had 2 pairs of the Chameleon 3, they had a narrow heel and wide toe box, which I loved. I put about 3000 miles on them and they recently bit the dust. Merrell has severly downgraded the Chameleon - No Vibram soles or metal lace hooks. They are trying to push everyone to the MOAB. The MOAB seems good quality, but the fit is terrible. The whole shoe is wide, no matter how tight I lace them. My heel seems to slide up at every step. No, I did not accidentally buy the wide and yes I have the right size. I don't buy hiking shoes based on fashion, but these are also really ugly. Needless to say... I'll be returning them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe /Value Bought these to replace a 3+year old pair of Merrell hikers that were worn out. Took these with me two weeks ago to Telluride, Colorado- still boxed up and not even tried on. Put them on when I got there and the fit was great. During my week there, I walked around town, went to the Blues and Brews Festival, hiked several trails and went off roading with my sons' on some very sketchy trails. The shoes were great-no sweaty feet, no blisters and no pain plus they still look good. Great shoe for the money. I'm an old guy (72) and these shoes allowed me to keep up with my two sons and have a great time in Colorado.
