Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable but won’t last the season I work in field ecology and got these to replace another brand of boots that had lasted me well over three field seasons, as well as multiple backpacking and hiking trips. They are comfortable and were initially waterproof, though that didn’t last very long. Within a month of getting these boots - in which they were used five days a week for low-impact work - I could see that the coating on the fabric was flaking, exposing the fibers. I continued using them because waterproof-ness isn’t the end all be all for me but after less than a continuous year of seasonal work, each boot has become detached from their sole. Big bummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots I decided to go with the Gore-Tex, Mid Moabs for the upcoming winter hikes. They are very comfortable (though if you aren't used to wearing a boot that goes up your ankles it takes a bit of adjustment) and they are very waterproof. I go on a lot of hikes (between 2 and 10 hours) and these work for all of them. They are especially great for hikes with a lot of rocks and roots, because the reinforced to protects you from kicking things, and if you trip, the ankle height gives you enough time to catch yourself. I got the Sedona Sage color and they look more grey in person, which I was happy about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for those who need wide width! I usually wear a women's 9.5 Wide in a tennis shoe, but was unable to find that size locally in a hiking boot. I got great customer service support with my questions about sizing - and actually ordered both the women's 9.5 Wide and a men's 8.5. They both were comfortable with plenty of room in the toe box. I chose the women's (and returned the men's) after a few days of walking in the house. The women's fit my custom orthotic better and did not require a thick hiking sock to prevent heel slipping. The men's were also bigger in the ankle area than I needed. I have been walking 3-6 miles a day and have not had any discomfort that some might expect from a new hiking boot. I can't wait to hit the trails!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfy! I bought these for trails and off-roading. I have wide feet and find that a lot of shoes I get lead to instant blisters. I was amazed that right out of the box these are the most comfortably fitting shoes I’ve ever owned. Went on a mile and a half hike over easy terrain and felt like I was walking on air. The toe space is perfect. My toes squish in most shoes and these were just right. The traction makes me confident that I won’t slip or fall and the ankle support is superior. They are definitely waterproof and very lightweight. Super cute too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to hiking boots! First off- I've worn this style of Merrell for 10+ years. Received my new pair a few days ago, and they still fit perfectly. Stable fit, not crazy heavy but good for scrambling, distance hikes while carrying up to moderate to heavier weight packs. Fabric breathes well. Short break in - for me it's never been needed for this style. The soles flex in the right place for climbing steep rock. One note: I typically wear an 8.5 in street shoes, but take a 9 In these. Removable insole let's me pop my inserts in...love them and will keep coming back for my Merrels!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my Wide Feet I struggle to find shoes that can fit my wide feet. I normally use Brooks 2E for running but I had not found the perfect fit for hiking. I've had other hiking shoes which I've needed to brake in and were not pretty looking (to my standards). I ordered these shoes with hesitation since I had not tried them on. When they arrived I immediately loved the appearance and the color. When I tried them on, they fit like a glove! Just the perfect room for my wide feet. Never felt to excited to take my new hiking shoes on a hike. They are great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have This boots are A-MA-ZING. I purchased them for a reason and they did not disappoint. I research the best boots for hiking and traveling and these were far superior. They were my first ever Merrels, first ever hiking boots and first ever water resistant boots and like I said, did not disappoint . I wore them for hiking mountains, mayan ruins, underwater caves and simple walking, all was great. Very lightweight, dries fast, doesn’t need to be broken into.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This is my 2nd pair of Merrel hiking boots, the first pair served me well over countless miles of hiking on rough terrine, outdoor working conditions, and casual wear for 8 years, so I bought with confidence. However, I had forgotten just how comfortable they are when you first slip your feet into them. That just does not happen to me, my feet are wide and every shoe I've ever bought required a breaking in period, not these! On the day they arrived we had just received 5 inches of snow, so I decided to put them immediately to the test, after a day of hiking at a local state park my feet remained dry and warm and the boot felt just as comfortable when I took them off, as they had when I put them on. Besides the perfect fit and comfort, what really impressed me most about these boots was the support they gave to my feet and ankles.
