Just what I wantedMy husband purchased these boots for me and I love them. I put them on and they felt a bit bigger than a normal 9 but I decided to try them because being new to hiking I had purchased a pair of too small hiking boots before these and that was a painful mistake. I’ve only just tried these out doing about 5 miles but I really ran them through the test of hills and rocks and even walked through a section of water to try out the waterproofness of them. They are amazing! My toes don’t bump like my old shoes. And I saw other reviews about not being very waterproof but mine were absolutely fine. I believe I have found my perfect hiking boot match for life

Disappointed - Not waterproofIt was about 5 or 6 months after I first started wearing these that I had the chance to test their waterproof capabilities in rainy hiking conditions. My left foot was soaked and my right damp. My first pair of Merrell's stayed waterproof for 10 years. The second did not. This was my third pair. At the end of the day I've realized that boots with lots of panels and stitch lines just don't hold up when it comes to being waterproof.
I also don't find the Merrell M Select FIT.ECO+ blended EVA contoured footbed in these boots to have the arch support of some of the other Merrell's I have loved. They feel a bit flat. Wish the search had a filter for footbed/last style.

LOVE EVERYTHINGThis might get long but, I love these boots. I am a newby and knew jack diddly when I began my search for a good pair of hiking boots. I hate buying things online because they never fit or look the same but these boots are amazing! I didn’t have to break them in hardly at all and I have yet to experience any foot pain after having them for nearly 2 months and my longest hike being 4 miles. Also, the boots are cute and I know that isn’t the main concern by any means but it’s a great bonus. They are a little wider than expected but thicker hiking socks fixed the issue right away and I still recommend ordering a half size up if possible.

Finally a hiking boot that fitsI've been wearing Merrell's for a long time. During this time, I have tried to convince my wife to try them without any luck. When she started complaining about her last set of boots, I decided to act. I purchased a pair of Moab 2 boots in a wide width in her size (her biggest challenge has been finding wide width boots and she refused to buy any online). When the boots came, I had her try them on immediately and voila, they fit perfectly. She has used them a lot and really appreciates the fit, comfort and waterproof lining. My wife is a Merrell convert and we are happily walking over hill and dale in comfort.

PerfectI bought these because I wanted something comfortable to wear to take my dog on longer walks, and to have something to keep my feet dry and warm all winter. They have been comfortable from the very first walk in them. Second walk was two miles, and still no discomfort at all. Can't wait to see how they are in the middle of winter. As another reviewer suggested, I bought the same size as my running shoe (1/2 size larger than most of my regular shoes) so there would be room for thick socks. I also measured my foot according to the foot chart, and that was helpful too. Love these hiking boots. Planning to wear them hiking, walking the dog, and just around town!

Hiked The Narrows at ZionI’ve had my boots for a few years now and they’ve been great. My husband hiked Mt. Whitney with his and loves them too! But we JUST hiked The Narrows at Zion while wearing our kids in hike backpacks. One kid is 45+lbs and the baby is 25+lbs, we only did 6 miles of the 9.5 since we were carrying all of that weight but the boots did great! My feet feel totally fine today, no sores, no blisters and they were wet for 5 hrs climbing through rivers covered in rocks. I should also point out I never slipped or fell in the water. We highly recommend and I’m addicted! Ready for another pair since my feet grew after pregnancy.

My go-to for 5 yearsJust last week I had to retire my first pair of MOAB boots after 5 years of support. These boots have been amazing for me, I have wide and tall feet so finding shoes that support and are comfortable can be an issue. I got my original pair for a backpacking trip I went on and they eventually accompanied me in traveling the world and almost daily wear. I highly recommend this boot to anyone looking to have a wonderful pair of boots that is comfortable, supportive, and durable. I am normally an 8 or 8.5 but I wear a 9W in these boots for the sole purpose of having plenty of room in the toe for downhill hiking.

Best hiking boots I’ve ever owned!!Purchased these a few months ago, waited to review until I’d hiked several times. My 4th hike was literally an 8 hour hike up and back to the peak of Mt. Mitchell in NC! Not one blister, red/hot spot, or problem! I was not sure I’d like the higher ankle as I’ve always bought the lower style. I’m glad I read the reviews and decided to go with these! Well worth the price and I know they will last forever!
My very first pair of Merrell was the Jungle Moc and I’m not kidding when I say I still wear them....they were bought in 2002 :)
I probably own close to 50 pair of Merrell! They are the best!!
