Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dinosaur fossil in a moose hat I've been buying Arcteryx gear for the past 15 years and loved every minute of it but always had a hard time with the price tag. This jacket is as close to a gamma MX as you can get! The fit and finish is fantastic! I love the innovative and thoughtful angled cuffs. I'm 6'1" 170lbs and a regular large fits great, don't want to mean the giant that needs a long, this is the perfect length. My only input is It needs a waist draw string. There is one at the lower waist but it would be nice to cinch in the mid section. This jacket is amazing with the arcteryx atom LT as a mid layer (and it matches great)! Love the madness! Another great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NICE DEAL!!! I bought this jacket a couple months ago & haven't taken it off yet!! It's so comfortable & so functional! It is true to size, I'm 5'9" & about 180lbs & a large fits nicely. I have enough room to layer underneath & not look or feel bulky. Sleeves are long but designed to fit gloves over perfectly. I also like the color a lot, smoke gray. The price plus quality are too good to not buy!! We'll see how it holds up through many winters to come. It does shield the wind pretty decent especially if you layer properly. I love this jacket!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket - except . . . This is such an incredibly nice jacket. All of the many features described make it perfect for the in between seasons when you don't need something super warm but still want to stay dry and protected from the elements. BUT - I have the same problems reported by a few others - I can't get my arms into the sleeves. The inside fabric acts like sandpaper or Velcro and does not let your arm slide in AND the armpits are so tight I can't pull it fully up to my shoulders without twisting and turning. I would love to replace this with the same thing - but be able to put it on without contorting myself [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best softshell for the price! This is the perfect softshell at a great price! I searched for two months trying to find what I was looking for at the price point I wanted to spend. It is completely waterproof and windproof. I am 5'9", 195lbs and got a size large. It fits great with room under it for a sweater on the colder days. Got it in the color leaf. It is exactly as pictured. Let my wife wear it one day and she liked it so much we bought her the exact one in a size small (she loves matching me... happy wife happy life, right?). Overall great product! I highly recommend getting one for yourself! Plus the company is pretty awesome and funny! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I didn't know I needed this until I had it. I purchased this on a whim on my way to the UP Michigan from Cincinnati OH in winter. I had the foresight to bring a down jacket, but not to bring an adequate cover. After day 1 of wearing just the down jacket, I realized why softshell covers are downs' best friend. The softshell provides enough room to accommodate a down or fleece jacket but not so much to look weird by itself in spring or fall. It also has an amazing attention to detail, providing me with adequate attention from strangers on the trail. Oh, and the secret bottle opener makes me a hero.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Softshell This softshell is on the thicker side and feels like a quality piece. The hood fits perfect over head, not meant for helmet. The texture inside and out is very nice to the touch. It's also a bit stretchy and allows full overhead movement without pulling. The fit is trim. I'm 5'11", 196 lbs, 44 chest, 34-35 waist and the large fit closer to the body (modern look) without under layers. I would order a size up if layering a med-heavy fleece or down sweater. The only thing I don't like is the armpit is cut a little high. I considered returning for an XL but this is a long jacket with long sleeves and I'm worried about length. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Such a splendid coat this is I fell in love with this the moment I tried it on. It fits like a glove that you wear around your upper, a jacket. It's got a ton of pockets which, if cargo shorts are any indicator, are going to make people look up to you as a true fashion pioneer. It even has a bottle opener attached to an elastic string in one of the chest pockets so you'll never have to deal with bloody fingers or a chipped tooth ever again while trying to crack open a cold one. The hood has a dual purpose of keeping your hair dry while also making you look like a complete goon while it's on, so you'll need to decide if a few moments of embarrassment in the rain are worth preserving your assumingly fabulous hairstyle. As far as the fit goes, I'm 6' and 175lbs and I wear a small, although if I could go back I would probably order a medium just to give myself a little more wiggle room. Anyway, get this jacket because I said so and most people that take my advice end up not regretting it. I will say that after a couple months I did have to swap the first jacket out due to some of the stitching coming undone on one of the sleeves, however it seems to be an isolated incident because I was the only one in the store at the time with the same issue and the world doesn't exist outside of my own personal experiences.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket Been out twice in high wind cold days completely wind proof and warm. The hood could be a little bigger to fit climbing helmet better. But overall a great jacket. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Does the men's Harper Jacket have an inner zipper pocket? If so, what size? Please compare the weight and lining to Arcteryx Gamma MX

Asked by: Micah
Hey there Micah, good questions! Unfortunately, the Harper does not have an interior zipper pocket. The Gamma MX has an average weight of 17 oz, while the Harper weighs 27 oz; the interior of both jackets is simply in the inside of the shell. I hope this helps!

* To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and refer to the measuring guide info below.

CHEST: Measure around your chest, holding the measuring tape under your armpit. Please refrain from flexing for a more accurate measurement. You can flex after.

WAIST: Measure around your waist at the narrowest part. Then multiply it by 1.

HIP: Measure around your hips at the widest part. This is where all your hipness lies.

SLEEVE LENGTH: With your arms in a slightly bent position, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist. Do it in front of a mirror. Then flex again. Yep, still got it.
