The outer shell of the Mt Elliott Insulated Waterproof Jacket is a 100% seam-sealed 10k/10k waterproof/breathable 2-layer fabric. It’s insulated with 133g in the body and 100g in the arms of PrimaLoft© Silver to keep you warm even on the worst winter days. The hood is removable and insulated, plus we included a balaclava (hidden in interior back neck pocket). The collar is lined with brushed tricot and the comfort cuffs have thumb holes so it can work as a glove liner. Plus we integrated the powder skirt to make this a solid jacket for hitting the slopes or the windy cities (I'm looking at you, Chicago).

Moosejaw SleevTek Technology

Moosejaw SleevTek
SleevTek is a cutting edge technology which addresses and remedies the major shortcomings of the modern vest, namely the cold spots just past your shoulders, in the arms. Most of the warmth an article of clothing supplies is directed to the parts of the body that the clothes cover, and the parts of the body that are too far from the clothes don't receive the warmth. SleevTek vests are able to provide that much needed extra coverage. Arm yourself with warmth.

RECCO Reflectors

RECCO Reflectors
The RECCO® Rescue System is two-part technology. Ski resorts and mountain rescue teams carry RECCO® detectors, which send out a search signal. RECCO® reflectors worn by skiers, riders and other outdoors people, bounce back a directional signal that directs the rescuer straight to the reflector. Unlike other technologies, multiple RECCO® reflectors on a person can improve detection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Technology Has Come A Long Way! I bought this prior to a trip to mammoth to replace ol' fathful, my previous jacket of 10+ years. I had no idea what I was missing out. Not only does the jacket handle single digit temps and wind exceptionally well, but it is extremely mobile and light weight, and never feels "bulky." The large number of pockets are conveniently located and the hood fits perfectly over a snowboarding helmet and serves as an excellent substitution for a face mask. The only thing it lacks, and this wasn't important to me, are ventilation zippers to open on the sides to cool down. Overall awesome product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Warmth & Functionality w/ Only Minor Defects I bought this in the middle of a Chicago winter and will admit it is the warmest coat I have ever owned and fits great (6'2" long armed male). Pros: The length is great and the internal snow skirt keep the bone chilling breezes out. Plenty of compartments for storage and high quality zippers. Cons: Thumb holster sleeve gets a bit uncomfortable with extended use and I tend to just use as a normal sleeve. Internal filling/insulation is starting to come out at the stitch lines. Makes it look cheaply made but can only be seen when coat is off. Overall a great coat, especially for the cost. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great All-around Jacket I think I looked at every winter coat in existence before finally deciding on the Mt. Elliott. I bought it for its features and the price point. I needed a new winter coat in general but was also prepping for a trip. I just returned from a hiking trip at Zion National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. My biggest compliment to the jacket is that I had to keep taking it off because I was so warm! I love all the easy access pockets inside and out. I am about 6' 200lbs, and bought the XL knowing that I wanted to be able to fit layers underneath. Worked out perfect for my purposes. If I was just wearing it on top of a t shirt it might be a bit baggy but realistically in winter I always have another layer in between.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought for fighting the cold NE winters I bought this jacket about 3 months ago with the intent of finding a nice lightweight, waterproof jacket to wear when the inevitable "Nor'Easter" comes rolling around. Wearing a t-shirt I tend to get a little too warm with this on, a testament to its insulation and quality build. Love the easy access pockets and fit. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the lack of vents to allow easy cool downs during periods of exertion while tossing snow. All in all, I love this jacket. For fit, I am 6'2" and around 177 lbs. and purchased the medium long as I wanted a flattering fit without much bulk and I couldn't be happier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value! I was looking for something with quality materials that was warm, windproof, and slim. The jacket delivers in the first three aspects handedly, however the fit isn't quite there. Slim in the arms and waist, however there is substantial extra room in the midsection. The jacket itself however isn't bulky, and while I wish it fit better, overall it is still a steal at this price point. The light waterproofing, balaclava, bottle opener, and hilarious one liners behind the main zipper are all added pluses. 4.5 stars [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this jacket is frickin warm This coat is really bad ass. I just got it and am really amazed at how warm it is. It blocks the wind and keeps you dry in the rain/snow mix we are getting in early November here in Northern Michigan. I highly doubt I will be in an avalanche any time soon but it's awesome that this coat has the RECCO technology in it. I have worn military issue cold weather gear and this coat is just as warm as the extreme cold weather coat ( marshmallow jacket ) the army issued me for the mountains in Afghanistan. Bottom line- it's worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coat I needed a good all purpose jacket and ran across this after a friend bought one. I was impressed with the quality and value. So I picked one up for myself and I couldn't be happier. Looks great, warm, wears and clean up well, as a bonus-TONS of pockets. Just when i thought it couldn't get any better I found the free balaclava they included in the secret upper back pocket. 10/10 would buy again. Seems like it's designed for snow sports but I just use it as a one layer everything coat. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I’m 6’-1”, athletic build, 41” chest, 32” waist, and long monkey arms...basically hard to fit!! And then along came the Mt Elliott jacket and the heavens parted. I got a Medium Tall. Jacket fits like a glove in the body and the arms. Sleeves are perfect for my 35” long arms. Thumbhole sleeves are awesome. I wear it everyday in 10-20 degree (5-10 mph wind) making for bitter cold walks. It keeps you toasty. Plenty of pockets. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
