Nice, light weight pack.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Taken it on two alpine hikes so far. One with some weight, and the other, just lunch and water. Handles both well. Top actually stays cinched down well. Only wish it had a side access zipper to the main compartment, but I have not found any light weight pack that does.

Simple, Elegant & Ultralight[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Hyperlite SW2400 for a while, but found the roll-top annoying with 3 buckles to do/undo. So I tried a bunch of other packs. This is by far the best alternative. Ultralight at about 32 ounces. Best closure/top loading system of any other pack-just a single simple metal buckle, smooth as butter to do/undo. Plus, with the flap, no need to cinch the opening underneath. Just flip, grapple, and go.
The polymer/foam framesheet actually is just right to keep the pack upright when empty and not floppy, but flexible enough to conform to the back. Genius, and no other packs have this.
The only con is the one size fits all sizing. It could be 2 inches longer in the torso to offer a better fit. I have a 20 inch torso size. But, even though I wear this pack at the top of the iliac crest rather than the middle, it actually is just as comfortable. Surprisingly, I'm liking the tighter fit.
The color scheme is perfect, matches gray and blue stuff. The profile is just elegant because of how simple it is. Contrary to most hikers, I can't stand bulging, unsymmetrical hip belt pockets, stretch mesh side and back pockets, etc. I'll only use "climbing" packs for all-purpose hiking and trekking for this reason. The Ogre 42 is perfect for my needs.
