Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and a great size! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After looking at a lot of tents, I decided on this one to replace a fully mesh tent my ex- took with him when he left. (Yeah, that happened.) Honestly, life is much better without the ex- or the old tent. This tent is easy to set up and very roomy for me and my dog. I especially love the roll back rain fly for night views. I have a super lightweight backpacker tent, but prefer this one. Although it is a bit heavier, it's not too heavy or too bulky for a backpack. The convenience and features are worth the extra weight and space.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid design but a few tweaks would help I have used the tent for 2 outings since I purchased it. It is easy enough to set up but I thought the directions were not the greatest. The pole that goes across the top should be inserted into the rainfly first then it is easier to attach to the tent. The directions don't make that clear. I like simple design of the poles and that it is free standing. I appreciate the abundance of gear pockets. However, all of them on on the mesh area. Some could be put down lower on the nylon areas. I typically put items in those pockets that could rip the mesh (like car keys for example.) Generally a solid design but a few tweaks would improve it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light and easy to set up [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried the zodiac 2 on a short hike in the Catskills NY. It is light and compact for a two person tent but more like a roomie one person. Temperature was 50° at 4am when it started raining and I stayed dry. Being that it was raining I kept rain fly doors completely closed and there is no other venting. Condensation is a problem, maybe the cool temperature and high humidity caused it and leaving the fly doors cracked in the rain is not an option. The inside was perfectly dry but the inside of the rain fly was wet with with condensation and could be a problem. It needs some kind of foul weather venting. All in all it is very nicely designed and put together. If not for the venting issue I’d give it five stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All in all, a great tent I took the Zoic 2 for 5 days of 2 person backcountry canoe trip soon after it arrived. Used it as a 1 man because of the pandemic. Even though a fair amount of rain, including 16 hours of solid downpour, it didn't leak one drop with all points staked out. I did purchase and used the MSR footprint, and glad I did. Not certain what the fuss was by other reviewers, it was simple and effective. I appreciate the 50"" width, for when I go out with my wife (in nicer weather) as we have two 25"" wide air mattresses. Useful mesh storage pockets inside and loops for running drying lines inside. Decent size vestibules.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy and airy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an old, trusty tent of 15 years with this one. I really like this tent! The old tent had the feed narrower than the head, but this one has a perfectly rectangular footprint. The mesh is great for giving you that airy feeling inside the tent without the rain fly. Great storage vestibules for various nicknacks. The only thing I'm weary of (from all the video reviews I watched) is that the original rainflies were NOT seam sealed. Mine had a handwritten "S" on the tent label, so it was seam sealed at the factory. It did not rain the 2 nights we used it for, so I cannot attest to the waterproof-ness of the seams. My son and I loved this tent. I suspect you will enjoy it as well. It is REALLY easy to pitch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tent Bought this tent for a recent camping trip, to upgrade from my MSR Elixir 2 tent. Both are great tents, but the Zoic 2 is much lighter and has more screened area under the rain fly. I appreciate the breathability and the 360 degree views you can achieve with the rain fly. It is a beautifully designed tent with many functional pockets. The simplicity of the design and ruggedness make it a tent that I am sure will last a long time:).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WildRenegade Benefits: Light. Good price.(on Saving%) Compact. Ideal for the warm season. Lots of pockets in the middle. Protected bedroom from the wind. High sides. Cool panoramic view. Storm delays. Large vestibules Disadvantages: Not glued seams. The third arc goes separately. Bag for carrying and storage is terrible)) p.s .: And a really good alternative between Elixir and Hubba Hubba

Rated 3 out of 5 by from no Super easy to install. enough space for 2 slander persons. not much for extra space. Very light don t take lot of space in the back pack. Biggest problem storage. If you leave packed long enough the day you will unfold it sting. The cover become sticky and smell bad petroleum plastic . So for those people who does not go camping every month you better to keep open.

MSR has recalls to tents using Extreme Coating. It said 2019 Extreme Coating tents did not have factory seam sealed. I am afraid to place order. See https://www.reddit.com/r/CampingGear/comments/e9nwoe/psa_msr_tent_recall_check_your_tents/

Asked by: saiyung
Hi saiyung, thanks for the question! This tent does feature the waterproof technology in question. Fortunately this error has not been happening in 100% of affected tents and if it does happen to know, this is a known manufacturer error and you can send it back to us for a full refund or replacement. I hope this helps!
