Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I bought the MR Front Pack after using a 3DAP for a couple years. 3DAP has been great for military excursions in all climates, and I've brought it on a few Central American, and European Travel adventures! It is however a bit bigger than necessary for every day use, and the Coyote Color sticks out in normal society! I ordered the Front Pack in Foliage green. It goes with me everywhere and I've been very satisfied. I was a little worried when i noticed it wasn't made in the USA, but when looking at the product itself you cant really tell anyway! I wouldn't hesitate to order it again and I'd recommend it for Military or civilian use!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, but can be improved... Great pack for everyday excursions, whether hiking, camping, travel, or taking the kids to the zoo. Light, simple, and just right size. Better alternative than the 3DAP as a less tactical and "don't shoot me" bag option. Love the 3DAP for the field, but love the Front when blending in. Great quality build (5 star for quality). But, overall 4 stars b/c the side bottle pockets are useless. Leaning slightly over causes your bottle to fall out. MR should use normal elastic opening like 3DAP, zippers like Terraframe, or omit completely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to be getting all the Attention First purchase of MR backpacking First purchase of MR-"Backpacking Anything", is the "Front" model, it seems to be well designed and constructed of highest quality materials, only wish it featured some style of hip belt, and molle on it's interior as it's first cousin (And Made in USA!) "ASAP" model included in its design. MR assures me they don't believe the Front will slide around in this hip area while cliimbing...I would have popped for the more expensive ASAP but it has no outside bottle storage pockets, rather the ASAP designed rightly moved them inside for it intended usages, yet it does now take away from it's interior volume. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost ideal... I have had and used the 3 Day Assault (gave it to a friend), still have my ASAP, was looking for something a little larger for remote field work. This is a great pack. Would have been perfect if they had just put on a waist strap that tucks into a side slit like the ASAP. A little extra stability when traversing would have been nice. Would have been even better off they had a row of molle on the bottom, just for couple of straps or for the beaver tail I have from the ASAP. I find the harness and shoulder straps just as good as the ASAP. Great quality, love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad shoulder straps.... We have two urban assault bags, and a Komodo Dragon in our family and the front has the least comfortable shoulder straps of the four bags. The waterproof zippers unzip too easily. The larger top pocket is opened 180 degrees, can lose some items if not careful. Just not quite as well thought out as the other mystery ranch bags we own. Hydration pouch would work well I think, but the shoulder straps are a real deal killer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Advice for those with narrow shoulders & Review I am a professional guide, hunting camp horsepacker and researcher and the front is a great bag for exactly what I use it for which is as a research field bag for my computer and other necessary gear: -first major con is that this is a one size fits all bag so those with narrow shoulders will have to use the sternum-level clip to keep the shoulder straps in the correct place and prevent them from sliding off - a minor con which is more of a suggestion for future improvements would be if there was a buckle/strap securing system above the waterbottle holding areas to keep a bottle from shooting out of the pack if you lean over to pick something off the ground. A caribiner clipping the bottle to the pack is what I use currently but an additional support would be great -pro: the water bottle areas are perfectly deep and have no problem fitting 1L water bottles -there are plenty of caribiner fastening areas and it is not difficult to secure items to the outside -the bag is perfectly wide and deep and will hold a computer and any number of things you might need for the day -no worries about destroying the bag or its zippers-the bag is tough and well-made like all mystery ranch products I’ve seen -top pouch and larger compartment of the bag both have small zippered micropouches within which are great for storing those very small items such as car keys, wallet etc

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features! I bought this a month ago and I’m so happy I did. I’ve used it in a few precision rifle field style matches. I did put shrink tubing on the zipper pulls to clean them up and made the inner zipper pulls shorter. I’d like for it to have a couple more internal mesh pockets and have the outer bottle pockets reinforced. I’m using one outer bottle pocket to hold my tripod and I’m afraid it’s going to rip. Great pack all around though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light Day Pack Winner I bought this pack because the small size and I think I'll be able to use it as a cantle bag behind a saddle on day trips horse hunting. It's fantastic. The support and weight transfer are surprisingly good for a pack of this size. I buy Alpha packs - this little guy doesn't disappoint.
