Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size I love my bag, perfect size for my 32oz Nagele, water bowl, and leash for my dog with a little room to spare. Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, you can remove the rigid piece of plastic that helps give it shape, but I don't need to do that. The size is good to grab some essentials for a short hike. Might be a little big for a run around town.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good replacement for a smaller bag I started using this as soon as I got it in the mail. It has a lot of room compared to other hip bags. The only down sides is the strap is a bit too wide, and the hard part inside the bag can't be removed. The compression straps are a really good idea. I like the ability to care more things when I go shopping.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could use some work, but decent. I wanted to carry this thing for a while before I posted an honest review. first off, the craftsmanship is what I would expect of Mystery Ranch. Even though their manufacturing is outsourced now. This is a solid bag. It's very large, I've got a full EDC kit and some extras with a little room to spare. My main complaint is that unless the straps are under tension, they don't stay cinched. I don't carry this around my waist, but sling it around my back like a slingpack. I find it easier to access the items inside. This is problematic because the straps remain fully extended and cannot be cinched up. I'm going to try and add some sort of rubber band around them to try and hold them in place to see how well it works. Annoying, but not a huge deal. Also, I wish there was more in terms of organization within the main zippered pouch. There's the small zippered pocket on the front, one large main zippered compartment and within the main compartment, there's a small zippered compartment along the inside back of the pouch. So basically 3 large zippered compartments. I'm using some zippered EDC style organizational pouches to keep everything where I can find it so I don't have to dig around in a large compartment for loose items. A decent bag for the money, if these small issues were fixed, I don't think you could find a better bag at this price. But as-is, it could be much better. Knowing what I know now, I would pass on this bag if I had to do it all over again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Day Carry [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and originally had hesitated on the size of the product. I have used this on a daily basis! Fits a 11 inch iPad snuggly and has no issues with my stacks of A5 note books that I carry everyday. The compression straps are great for when I have lesser things to carry and can be expanded to keep a spare set of clothing as well! One change I would like to see is the addition of elastic straps to keep the excess straps from dangling around but it's not a dealbreaker for me as it's an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger than expected I thought I would use this to carry around my wallet and some snacks on hikes but I can also fit 5 beers with the rest of my junk which is just great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Bang for your Buck. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this to take on short hikes with the family. When a full backpack is too much, but pockets just aren't enough. It feels durable, and the construction seems heavy duty and well made. The inside pocket fits an M&P Shield perfectly. All other EDC items fit nicely inside. I wish it had some sort of internal organization. Its just one large pocket though. Would be perfect with some extra loops or smaller internal pockets sewn in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, grest price, but needs strap retainers [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the fanny pack (let's call it what it is). Love the price, especially for Mystery Ranch quality. The Waxed Wood color is really nice too, in my opinion. The excess straps are a problem, especially when I wear the Full Moon over the shoulder . . . the length of the loose straps is much less in this configuration, but they are still a bother being right on the front of your chest. I plan to stitch some 550 cord loops onto the strap ends to act as retainers. A lesser gripe, and a bit nit picky . . . the strap buckle is a solid beast (which is good), but it is too bulky and I feel like I'm clicking in to a 5-point belt to run a dragster or launch an Atlas rocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bag Been using this since I have gotten it. Amazing capacity and comfortable as a sling or as a waist bag. Good touch on the hard plastic cover for stability. Now I’m wondering if I should have gotten the hip monkey lol
