Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy and comfortable I've had this pack for about a month now. After adjusting it for a perfect fit I went for a snowy day hike with a full compliment of overnight hiking gear as a test. The suspension is fantastic, didn't notice the ~45 pounds of weight on my shoulders at all, instead it was distributed comfortably on my hips. Seems to be able to fit quite a bit, appears a bit larger than my brothers 50 liter Kelty Redwing. Great zippers as well, hiked for an hour in freezing rain with minor dampness in the pack. Despite being heavy for it's size, comfort of the suspension feels like it conceals the packs weight well. Overall can't recommend it highly enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect hauler to Backcountry Base Camps I do Trail Maintence volunteer work and I need to be able to carry my base weight gear of 16lbs, 8lbs/gallon of initial water plus 6lbs of food for 5 days. I then need to carry another 30lbs of Crew Gear some of which is oddly sized likes stoves & Rotopac. My daily work pack once in the Backcountry is a Six Moon Dedigned Minimalist. Your pack swallowed that pack whole allowing me to just pull it out once at Base Camp and head out to my assigned work area. The two packs combined make a perfect plug & play team for me. Big bulky weights yet instant access to an already packed daily work pack. I just leave my bladder in the Minimalist and thread it through your portal while hiking in initially.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A dependable comfortable pack Excellent mid-range pack. Packs down good and seems to hold more than 50l. Very comfortable. The overload feature is super nice and allows you to put bulky/damp items outside your main compartment. I put tent, poles and ground tarp outside. Fasteners and zippers all work very well. Only complaint is the external side pockets could be a bi bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack Having never used it I proceeded to fill the load shelf with a 4 man tent & 2 sleeping bags. I was pleased to see that it all fit. I later realized it's best to load the main bag prior to placing anything into the extended load shelf area. Any way the short of it is when I loaded all essentials for a two night, 3 day fishing trip to the river with my son, purposely packing a bit more than normal for the two of us, The slightly over 100 lb. load while not entirely comfortable was very manageable using hiking poles. This new to me pack material used on the Terraframe 50 is indistinguishable by feel to me from the 500D pack cloth on my other MR packs. Pack seems to meet MR's claims regarding load out capacity. Complaints, only one so far. I wish the the top lid compartments were bigger. I've owned several Dana / Mystery Ranch packs over the years along with packs from others. This one may become my very favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Obsessive Compulsive Design I didn’t want a new backpack, then I stumbled on the terraframe 50. After poking at it for a minute I suddenly needed a new pack. The attention to detail and perfection bordered on obsessive. The materials and craftsmanship were first class and the pack readily adapted to carry everything I asked it to on the trail. I’m typically a difficult customer to please but Mystery Ranch has easily won my loyalty almost instantly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great setup I have an overload 3 zip on a NICE frame & it has been on multiple adventures. Super sturdy with no regrets. This setup has all the features I came to count on but 3 lbs lighter. Made from a thinner material but not flimsy or easily damaged. The new frame moves with you & supports weight well, the shoulder harness & waistbelt are comfortable as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good. I purchased this pack for hunting in the fall and shed hunting in the spring. I’m 6-7 and have a heck of a time finding packs that fit me. The XL fits me with room to spare. I’ve only had it out once this spring, but I love this pack. The size is perfect for day hikes with quite a bit of gear. The zipper system and pockets seem to be well thought out. Hopefully, I’ll have a chance to try the load shelf out next fall. It looks like it will definitely hold an elk quarter, maybe two. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Access, stability, and comfort I have the terraframe 50 and have done a few long trips in it now. It cinches down for small loads, expands nicely for large loads, and rides so nicely on your torso with the two size torso lengths. No rubbing or discomfort. Best part - bombproof material, zippers, and straps.
