DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rocked the Kilimanjaro Trek I begged, borrowed and was willing steal to get this bag before my trip to Kilimanjaro and it was worth it. I am 6ft tall and I highly recommend the Sonic long bag. This bag was incredible every step of the way up Kilimanjaro all the way up to base camp 16,000ft with temps from 15 to minus 8-10 degrees. I tend to run a bit warm in general, slept in my boxers and t-shirt for the entire trip with the vents open. Amazing bag, worth every penny. Roomy and easy to stretch out into several sleeping positions. I have had Camp 7 and Monte Bell bags before and this one smokes them all for comfort and warmth. Very lightweight. Stuff bag it comes with is could but it could even pack down smaller if needed. SOLID GEAR!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all around winter bag I bought this for winter camping in the upper midwest (US) and I'm so glad that I did. It packs up small enough that you can bikepack with it. The materials and construction are top notch, including the 850 down fill. Be sure to pair it with an insulated pad. I use it with an OR Alpine Bivy and a Thermarest insulated pad, but Nemo seems to have good offerings for both of those, as well. I look forward to trying those out when its time for replacements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!! I LOVE THIS BAG. Last year I spent over 100 nights in the backcountry of Northern Montana and Canada throughout spring, summer, fall and winter, and this bag kept me warm and comfortable throughout every hitch. I would look forward to sleeping (unlike many of my friends and crew members who would dread sleeping in the cold) because I knew my bag would allow me to receive a good night's sleep and keep me nice and toasty until dawn. The zippers all glide super well, no need to worry about getting trapped inside this sauna! I really love the air vents- it's a feature I never thought I would need, but I have used it on hot summer nights many times! The down is so soft and comfortable that I feel like I am in my bed at home when I snuggle in. The extra layer of "puff" near the feet is so wonderful that my feet have never been cold inside this bag ( I went camping in Canada in November in a blizzard, and I had no complaints). It is also super light! The bag packs down really nicely, and still holds its puffy shape when it is taken out of my backpack hours later. Friends ask to borrow my bag all of the time, and it is the one item that I cannot bear to share or part with! This bag is the best purchase I have ever made in my life. I love it so much, and after a year of continual use, I thought it was time to finally write a review on how awesome it is (and I never write reviews). It has not worn down over time, it still looks and feels quite new. It is my favorite item that I own, and I would be devastated it anything happened to it. I would recommend this bag to everyone. I was nervous to pay so much for a new bag, but I can easily say that this is the best purchase I could have made for myself. Thanks Nemo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome cold-weather bag Have spent a 30-degree night in the back yard and a couple 20-degree nights in the mountains with this bag. Had to open the "gills" and strip off layers in both cases. I have no doubt this would be comfortable down to single digits or below, depending on your layering, ground insulation, etc. Draft collar and snug hood are good. Bag is incredibly light for this much warmth. In my book, $500 is still a lot of money, but you get a lot for your investment. I hope to never buy another sleeping bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I decided on this bag! I bought this a month ago and I’ve only used it once in warm weather (high 40s at night). The vents worked well but I was still really toasty- I had to open the side zipper. But that would be the case using a 0 degree bag in spring :) I’m very pleased with the design, the materials, and the construction (and I’m extremely picky about these things). I’m excited to use this bag in cold weather as I am a cold person and I have full faith it will keep me toasty. I also like NEMO’s values- they are working on loosening the requirements around health degrading formaldehyde in tents and other camping material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wide temperature range So far this has proved to be the great purchase. Bought this out of concerns for low temps on a November White Rim Trail ride. Turns out that we had much warmer weather than expected and the zip vents kept me air conditioned and comfy even when I zipped into full mummy mode to avoid high wind and airborne sand. Haven't tested it in really cold temps yet but I think it will be pretty toasty. The wide temperature range is good insurance. Good zippers (not too thin and jam-prone) and quality construction. Fully recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile bag My husband and I each got a Sonic Nemo bag to thru hike the Applachain trail with starting this February (2016). We were drawn to the features of this bag in particular that it can handle bitter cold but the gills that vent allow its use in less cold temps. It also is very well constructed and light in the pack. Nemo has an excellent reputation for quality and that was also a consideration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag! I am 5' 11" and 225 with a 49" chest. I bought a Nemo Sonic regular bag. When it arrived I tried it out and found it to be a bit snug. I was so impressed with everything (the bag, the service, etc.) that I ordered a Long version of this bag and it fit perfectly. I kept them both. Pricey but worth it. Great bags!

What year model is this? Does it have the waterprotected foot section?

Asked by: EvenKegan
Hey there!! As of right now, our current inventory is reflective of the 2015 model year, but that can change as time goes. And, yes, that is one of the awesome features of the Sonic (aside from the gills) is the waterproof foot box to help combat that pesky damp toes from touching the condensation on the ends of the tent!
