Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design and fit! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] NRS makes an amazing product! I did a lot of research on PFDs before deciding on the Ion and I couldn’t be happier. The design is such that you get a ton of arm and shoulder movement which is great for kayaking or stand up paddling, but at the same time you feel safe and secure. The zipper pocket is a great feature as well. Overall the NRS Ion is a comfortable and secure PFD that has a really attractive design, it’s a PFD that you’ll actually want to wear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ready for the Whitewater [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Ion to use when kayaking whitewater. My previous PFD was too bulky and inhibited full rotation of my arms/shoulders. This jacket fits snug, doesn't ride up with my thwart seat and allows plenty of room for upper mobility. It has two simple-to--use locking straps down by your waist. Getting the jacket on was different than others I've used, but is super simple once you've put it on once. Seems high quality, durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good fit, decent floatation, and great for kayak [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] PFDs last about 2-300 trips, and kids get big fast, The small Ion is great for a human that has just cleared the 90 lbs mark, it has a pocket for sunblock, knife and carabiner, and has a slim profiled without extra things that could be snagging hazards. It has a soft hand and is very comfortable on, and that makes the best kind of pfds (they only work when you wear them people)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Peasy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this baby on a trip to the Boundary Waters and she handled flawlessly. Low profile fit, plenty of space to get my paddle on, light enough for portages and a nice little stash pocket in the front for easy access to my phone when I needed to snap a bald eagle on the fly. (See what I did there) would definitely recommend! I’m 5’6”, 140, athletic build and the xs/m fit great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Bright! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket to paddle board on the great lakes. I love love the bright color so I stay visible out on the big water. I haven't had a lot of time to use yet because I purchased in November, in Michigan, but the jacket seems comfortable and minimally restrictive. I'm a strong swimmer, so I'm not sure this will suit me better than an inflatable PDF.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Comfortable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my husband, but decided to try it on myself. It's super comfortable. The foam is soft and there's plenty of clearance on the shoulders and sides so this will be great paddling. Nice size pocket in the front too. I'm now buying myself one. WIN!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and flattering! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a birthday gift for my best friend. She said it is so comfortable to wear on the river all day, recently used for a 3-day overnight rafting trip. Dries quickly! The warm pouch for the hands is a great feature. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit. Lots of room for activities [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for rafting mainly. Surprised the first time I went in the water at it's ability to keep me on top. Lots of room for rowing and the pocket is handy for things you need up front. I'm 5' 9" 150 and the small fits nicely.

HOW to MEASURE
CHEST: With arms down at your sides, measure around the largest part of the chest, generally across the nipples.

WAIST: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.

NRS FIT GUIDE
FORM FIT: Next-to-skin fit for easy layering and efficient performance.

SEMI-FORM FIT: Fits close but not tight for comfort and layering ease.

RELAXED FIT: Full cut for freedom of motion and layering underneath.

NOTES from NRS
Use a flexible cloth measuring tape for measuring. If you do not have one, use a cord or strap and transfer that to a tape measurement.

Measure in your street clothes or base layers. NRS sizes technical outerwear pieces like drysuits and dry tops to include room for layering underneath.

With wetsuits, your weight is the best "tiebreaker" when measurements cross sizes. Remember, wetsuits need to fit snugly to be efficient at excluding water and holding in warmth.

In looser fitting garments like drysuits, splash jackets, etc, look first at the height, then at the weight for a tiebreaker.

Stand up straight when measuring, with your body relaxed.
