The Outdoor Research Carbide Sensor Mitt is a durable mitt for skiing. Surround your hands with synthetic insulation and a GORE-TEX lining for waterproof, breathable performance with plenty of heat to back it up. The goat leather palm is soft and flexible for plenty of grip on ski poles and other gear while a leash keeps them connected when you need to take them off mid-adventure. A long gaiter covers your jacket sleeves to prevent snow from entering and a stretchy belt at the wrist dials in the fit without restricting circulation.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Comfortable and Warm I use these Mitts skiing in the Canadian Rockies. I have the worst hand circulation so I wanted some warm so I could spend more and a run or 2 on the hill before heading inside to heat up. Also didn't want to break the bank on heated gloves. They held up great on a -20 morning in Lake Louise, once I got skiing they were toasty and I had no hand issues at all which is rare. The gauntlet could either have been a bit bigger to fit over a coat without having to full strap down the cuffs, or a bit smaller to fit under the coat. Also dexterity is lacking but they're mitts so that's par for the course. The elastic cuffs on the leashes are really soft and unnoticable while wearing them. Really pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm but poor touchscreen compatability These mitts keep my hands toasty warm in 15-30 degree weather. I love the wrist straps as well, such an upgrade from the stretchy string you get with most other snow gloves. The fit was right on the money for me, which I was worried about because I came out as a size medium when I'm usually a Large or XL in other gear. The downsides of this glove are the touchscreen capabilities and not including a liner glove. The liner glove is an easy fix, just a buy a cheap pair somewhere. But make sure they are thin or you may want to size up. The biggest let down is the touchscreen capability, I tried forever to use my phone with these, touching different points on the glove, using firm pressure and light pressure and nothing worked. I love these gloves, they are warm and comfortable, but if I need to use my phone or do anything that requires dexterity, the mitts have to come off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm and DRY! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I searched for a lightweight, flexible mitten for very cold skiing and hiking. Sweating is not acceptable, as hands will become cold quickly. I splurged on these beauties with Goretex. They are easy to slip on, and I love the quick release strap and tightener for the upper wrist. I even use the wrist "keepers" so that they don't blow away when I take them off to adjust boots and bindings. I'm pretty average size for a woman, and the size small fits fine with room for thin liners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy these again, would suggest to any friend! I got these gloves because I have really bad circulation in my hands and needed something that would stand up to freezing temperatures with wind. Used them for the first time night skiing last night and I'm in LOVE! My hands were warm and toasty the whole time. They are my new favorite. Thanks OR for making such great quality gear!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dry and comfy I have used these about 20 days on hill. They are comfortable, warm, and easy to take on/off. Dry in the worst conditions. The straps are awesome and people pick them up to check them out so they must look cool. I would have done 5 star but my thumbs get cold below 25 degrees. A thin liner would solve that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm mitts Great durable warm mitt for colder temps. I use these as a backup emergency mitt for the backcountry. Awesome when your hands get chilly. Be good for skiing in cold temps or people prone to colder digits. I put these on while snomobiling on the way home to keep warm. Great build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for shovelling snow Love them for shovelling snow in the driveway. They keep snow and wind from blowing up the cuffs of my jacket. The vortex protects my hands from chill. Lots of space for movement of my hands, so I can be active. Also great for snowshoeing and just walking outside in general.
