Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Accessory for the Age of Pestilence I own three of these, which I've been using for several years now. I found them most useful for sun and wind protection in non-winter alpine adventures, or high exertion activities in winter. More recently, I've started wearing them for pandemic protection. For me, these work much better then most pandemic masks. There's no issue with side leakage, you can arrange it so that your glasses don't fog up (even when you're chugging up hill), and they're not super restrictive. I don't know how the fabric would fare in comparisons with other mask fabrics, of course. I'm an average size male, and it fits me well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely useful and light Just ordered for the whole "have to wear a mask thing". I love that it is light, as the weather is getting warmer, and can be washed and dried very quickly. Same material as the Echo tees. It is easy to breathe through and stretches just enough. I also know I will be wearing as protection for my neck/ears when hiking/camping. Can be used for sweat, sun protection, mask, hair band, etc. It's light as a feather and packs down to nothing - no excuse not to have with you. I intend to buy a few more - one for the car, one for my work bag, one for my backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for the buck [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been looking for a tube that could be used as a gater but also an "emergency" face mask and espcially as a single or double layer "beanie". + a head band for catching sweat during summers. Decided to try this OR based on online reviews. The fabric is breathable, comfortable on touch, moves easily but stays in place. Works great as a beanie. You can let the "tail' hanging for ventilation when used as 1 layer ot tuck it in. Long enought for 2 layers more formal look. A perfect combination of wicking, wind cutting and breathability

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An essential piece of outdoor wear I purchased this as a handy face covering while recreating and it has turned into an essential piece of outdoor wear! It is so lightweight and breathable that you don't notice that it is there while providing a little extra coverage from sun, mosquitoes, etc. It easily rolls up into a headband to keep your hair out of your face, too. I bought one for my husband to wear as a face covering at work since he has an active job and he loves it! It stays up, is easy to pull up/down, and is easy to breathe through.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT appropriate face covering for COVID Bought a couple of these online to have some face coverings at the ski hills this season. The description and pics do not convey how thin the material is. You can see through it. This will do absolutely nothing for droplets. I'm disappointed this is not communicated more clearly on the website, especially considering they will not accept returns on this item. OR should really take more care about this in the description. To be fair, the material is soft and nice.... so if you want something for maybe sun or to wick sweat, you'll probably like it. But don't plan to use it as a face covering during the pandemic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not constrict breathing. Relatively warm. Lightweight, easy to breath through compared to some competitor products. Perfect for off-season use and winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the most versatile pieces of gear I am a big fan of buffs and use them all the time. This is ORs version of a buff and is super light. Love the versatility. Used it ski touring, mountain biking under the helmet and trail running on colder days. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes This product both stylish, practical, convenient and reasonably effective for what most people would probably use it for; an outdoor facial covering. This gaiter would be explosively popular if there was a version that just offered a little more "COVID-19" like protection with tighter or additional layering, and/or a quality pocket that allow insertion of a high quality filter. Between the brand name, quality and described enhancement, these would fly off the shelve and OutDoor Research could not make enough of these. People would prefer gaiters since they are so convenient to pull up/down and wear around necks -- particularly in the winter, but many people only see them as "light" covering for either minimal protection outdoor circumstances. That said, I got one for each member of my family, for outdoor up/down circumstances when max type protection is not desired.
