Essential, meet Well-DesignedThe mask fits my face closely along the sides and the nose bridge, which I appreciate as I don't want a mask getting in the way of the graphic and web design I have to do in a close-contact office environment because my boss believes the pandemic is a hoax. The material isn't thin but feels quite breathable-even with the filters in place-which is great for taking big breaths in the supply closet to calm down after you find out a coworker tested positive but the office is staying open. The flat-lying, adjustable ear straps don't pull on my ears and don't interfere with my glasses or over-ear headphones so my only distraction is a constant, overwhelming urge to get out.

Great Product-Problematic FilterI have purchased several of these masks for my family. The fit and breathability factors are top notch. That being said, the filter will not stay in place for long. My kids just hide the fact that filter is missing which kind of defeats the purpose. I have found that ripping 1" athletic tape lengthwise, and taping the insertion flap to the filter on both sides keeps the filter in place for a short time. If the filter and face mask fabric would make contact and stick/grab like velcro even a tiny bit I would recommend to everyone and give a five star review. If the peeps at OR aren't working on this it's a shame because it's a great product otherwise.

OK, but needs a re-desigbn for filterThe mask fits pretty well, is one of the most comfortable masks I've worn, especially for long periods of time and exercise, but the biggest problem, as many have pointed out, is the filter system. The filters just do not stay in place and end up bunching up and pulling out...especially when wearing for extended times and/or any light physical movement. It's a deal-breaker. I'm shocked that with all the critical feedback, OR hasn't re-designed this system for improvement. It's a shame, I purchased two for myself, and two for my partner, but I simply can not recommend this mask until this problem is fixed. It should be a simple fix OR, get on it!

Quick & Cheap Filter Fix! Velcro Dots!Love the OR mask, but as many have commented, filters do not stay in place. Both frustrating and may limit effectiveness. Filter modification to keep it flat and in place - simple and cheap. ADHESIVE VELCRO DOTS. Turn the pocket inside out, attach one fuzzy dot at the inside near outer edge seam. Attach another pair of hook dots to the filter outside edge so it will match. You can buy sheets with a couple hundred dots for a few bucks from the prime guys. I use the 15mm (5/8"). One dot on each side works great. So, for a couple pennies and a couple minutes you can change Velcro each time you change the filter. OR - maybe consider dispensing these with the Filters?

Not great.Looks nice, materials seems high quality and it fits well, EXCEPT -- and this is a deal breaker -- the removable, disposable filter is only secured in the mask by tucking in the side flaps meaning that most of the filter is in direct contact with your face rather than being a "middle" layer like in many other masks. That feels sort of annoying and is unsecure. In fact, invariably if you have to remove or lower your mask you need to readjust, retuck, and try to get the filter back in to position. It's not safe having to touch the inside of your mask while out and about. I love Outdoor Research products but this mask is not a very good effort.

Filter bunches up and doesn't stay in placeThis is almost the perfect mask. Unfortunately the filter bunches up like crazy - it feels like when you wake up in the night and the top sheet is all thrashed about. Seems like there should be a simple solution - maybe a small hole in each end of the filter and a wire in each end of the mask to clamp the filter down? Other con is that the filter directly against my face gets really clammy after awhile. Wish there was a layer of fabric in between. This mask has the potential to be perfect, and it's frankly really frustrating that the above issues weren't addressed. It would take a truly incompetent QA team to let those issues slide. As it stands I can't recommend this mask, but really hope to be able to if/when it's improved.

No barrier between filter and mouthI was so excited to get these but them so disappointed, and surprised. Love the material and breathability But the interior is terrible. The filters are only loosely held in place at the ends, far sides of filter and mask so the entire middle part is directly touching your face and it's not soft. So the filter isn't securely held in place and it's kind of gross that it's touching your mouth and nose. There should be another layer of fabric inside with the pocket for filter accessible from the end or top. This layer would make it more comfortable and safer. Of all the masks I have purchased, I have never seen one constructed this way.

Flip the filter inside out, and it's much betterHave switched over to wearing the OR for most of my uses. But as shown, the filter replacement leaves alot to be desired., as the filter media wants to fold back in on itself, especially when it gets moist from your breath. Here's the tip: Once you peal the new filter open, flip it inside out, and run your finger along the seam to spread it open as much as possible. Now the filter will want to stay open, instead of closed, and doesn't pop out of the pockets as much. Plus, the pushing of the seam open makes the seam act as a more rigid rib, keeping it off your mouth. Much better!
