The Outdoor Research Exit Sensor Glove is a soft glove for hiking cold weather. Pop above the treeline and it's surely a little colder but the Alpin-Wool™ Plus 2L fabric will deliver the warmth to your hands along the way. A wool, polyester and nylon shell blend with synthetic suede palm brings the heat and also wicks moisture away from the skin. Grip trekking poles and even use touch-screen devices without having to remove the gloves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The gloves I reach for most often now These are now my favorite go-to gloves for long winters in Interior Alaska. Perfect for light tasks around the house and out and about in the world due to their warmth, comfort, and dexterity. Would not recommend them for heavy work or wet or dirty conditions, which you'd expect from their description. Sizing is consistent with other OR gloves these days. However, this is a minor gripe of mine; I was a medium glove size for the previous two decades but there appears to be a more . . . "relaxed" standard that is probably in line with many other manufacturer's adjustment to our increasing waistlines and apparently hand sizes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crazy Small! Just got these yesterday. First impression was that I loved the look of them and they were just what I wanted. Then I tried on my xl gloves. Except that I literally could not get my hand through the cuff of the glove. I can’t even reach the fingers. I’ve worn xl gloves for 30 years. These are more like a medium or even small. They fit my wife who is a foot shorter than me and much smaller. This is the first time I’ve ever wrote comments on a product. Hopefully it helps someone who is thinking about buying these gloves. They look great and seem well made. I might need a 3xl for these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gloves Full disclosure, I grew up in Alaska and have lived here for all my life (42 years). I would say I'm acclimated to Alaska winters and in general I find that I can tolerate fairly cold temps. That being said, these gloves are outstanding. I like that they are thick and insulated without being too bulky, I can wear them to pump gas, split wood, etc and have the dexterity to do most outside winter tasks. The wrist portion is nice as the glove doesn't just end at the palm of your hand, but gives some coverage so that your coat can tuck over the glove. The touch screen sensor is a great feature as well. The leather palm is very durable and has stood up to some wood splitting sessions. I recently took my dog for a walk at -15F for 30 minutes and my hands did not get cold. I have another review that said the wrist opening was tight to slide your hand into, but the gloves have nice loops to help assist with putting them on and I don't find this to be an issue at all. I recommend reading the sizing chart and measure your hand in order to correctly get the right size for your hands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful, but flawed These are easily the most comfortable pair of gloves I've owned. They are nice and warm to boot. Grip is decent, but not technical. I also really like the look. The negative is that the "hole" to the glove is stiff and inflexible. This makes it hard to get your hand in. Luckily OR thought of that by adding attractive pulls. The problem is that after the third time I slipped these babies on, the left pull broke off. I did not think I was pulling that hard. These beautiful and comfortable gloves are marred by an overly difficult access.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh These gloves are just so-so. They look stylish but were thicker than I expected. And, despite this thickness, they are not very good at keeping the cold out. Anything flirting with 0 celsius and you're in trouble after 10 minutes. I can't recommend these gloves... hard to believe that other reviewer's went climbing using them... they would be drenched in no time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband loves his - I needed a pair too! Wisconsin/polar vortex/shoveling/dog walking/snowshoeing. All good. Takes a little while for gloves to dry once they have been used for a few hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my new favorite gloves. These gloves are a great combination of warm, flexible, and comfortable. For wearing around town, walking the dogs, shoveling the drive, they're perfect down to well below freezing. My hands get cold easily and I find these to actually keep my hands warm where others don't while still making it easy to get things in and out of pockets and use them. Just perfect gloves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and Warm These gloves kept my hands toasty while standing outside watching the Northern Lights in Iceland. They are very soft and comfortable, and allow a decent amount of dexterity. Love the color combo especially helpful since it's easier to misplace black gloves. These would probably make a nice gift. True to size.
