Warm and ComfortableI purchased this for winter wear in the Northern reaches of British Columbia. I use it for day to day activities around town and have worn it snowshoeing, etc. I was disappointed when I opened the box it came in, but that didn't last for long. It seemed too thin to be warm enough for our winter - the insulation is a lot less bulky than the fantastically warm but beat up jacket it replaced. But, the first time I wore it to shovel the driveway I was pleasantly surprised. Over the first couple weeks I gradually started to wear it for longer periods and more demanding tasks. Now it's proven to be just as trusty (and a lot better looking) than my last jacket. The attention to detail, fit, and quality of construction are great too.

Freestyle Barracuda from
10 degrees cold front came in and I put this one to walk in!I have a couple Winter jackets but this one is my favorite by far. It isn't a light weight jacket but it is lighter than my super duty ones. It is a little on the puffy side but I'm happy with that trade off because it has handled down to ten degrees F so far for me (I haven't tested colder). No issues at all down to 10 though and that is with just a t shirt on underneath! Love the hood, wrists and waist adjusters and the hood is super warm, too. Great zippers, pockets and feels very durable. I've had it through just one winter so far and it still looks like brand new.

Warm but noisyI like the weight and feel of this coat and it keeps me quite warm in -10c temps here in Ontario Canada. But the shoulder material and hood is quite noisy. I don't think you'll wear this hunting. The noisy material is up by the ears and is a nuisance after a while especially if you love to hear only the sounds of the forest. The coat is well made and is true to size. Product testers should have pointed out the noise issue and used a different material in the final product. Bet this model gets discontinued soon. Notwithstanding, OR is still a go-to brand for me. I just hope they aren't starting to slide in quality. Time will tell.

MN cold must be different than MT coldI ordered this jacket as a warranty replacement for another down jacket that had failed. The weight, fill power and more durable fabric drew me to this product thinking it would be a good deep winter coat here in MN. I received the Green/canvas color in Medium which is a nice contrast of the blacks/greys out there. Out of the box I noticed the total fill and puffiness was not what I expected given the product description and pictures. It was light and did not have as much fill as it looks like. Overall weight was ~50 grams lighter than described, did they weigh the XL? Sizing was another issue, I'm traditionally square in the middle of a size medium(5-7, 165lbs). The sleeves were almost out to my finger tips, length was acceptable a hair longer and chest cavity was very roomy. Buy something else if your temps get to 10 deg F or below.

not warm enough, poor buildi am 6'1" 195 and the L fits well. Good length. Love the color. It's not nearly as warm as I expected it to be, given the description. Doesn't seem like 700 fill. Why no cover for the front zipper? Wind cuts right through it. Durability is also suspect. Seams on the interior sleeve are broken after only 1 month. Waiting to hear from the warranty department...

It fit's!I love that it's lightweight and made for layering. I can finally wear my fleece vest under my outer layer. Can't wait to use it when I snowblow the driveway. I'm 6'1" and about 195# and the large fits me very well.

This jacket sucksI replaced the whitefish jacket with this one. Which is the replacement model. Lacks insulation to the max I feel like there is barely any in there. Not warm. If I wanted a sweatshirt I would have bought a sweatshirt. The outer material seems same as whitefish which was super durable. Guess finance got a hold of the whitefish to make the new version. Waited too long to return since purchase direct. Guess it will just collect dust in storage.

major bummerI was excited to use this winter camping, however it broke at the sleeve and dumped the down out. i've seen other comments and its clear to me this jacket is a bust. OR makes great products however this one was awful. with such little use I would expect way more. Product was a great fit, and a very nice jacket overall and I really wish it had worked out. Customer service made the return very painful. I am disappointed in the whole process
