The Outdoor Research Men's Ferrosi Anorak is the famed softshell classic in a fun pullover style for the grab-n-go hiker. Versatile and built for the weather in the betweens, it offers a shield from wind, light moisture, and cool temperatures. Soft and quiet when hiking the outdoors, the front half zip makes it easy to get on and off, or just dump excess heat when the sun is shining but it's still too cool to remove completely. A hood offers head protection, and also looks cool when truding grumpily through the gray to the pub. A front stash pocket is an handy spot to dump phone, wallet, snacks, extra gloves, and more. You decide how oddly bulged out you want that to look.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a thing I've been using this as my skiing shell in variable but mostly humid conditions and it has become a new favorite. I prefer something like this over a full goretex jacket in anything but a downpour. You don't have to worry about the waterproof layers delaminating (they do) and these breath way better. Couple this with synthetic or light wool layers and your body heat will keep you warm and dryish. This also hikes/skins well with just a baselayer. Anyway, the design of the anorak, as you can probably tell, is a pullover so you have that big kangaroo pocket you can warm your hands together in. Plus it has a pretty large size zipper pocket that's easy to get to. Much cooler than a boring old full zip jacket. Anoraks forever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate shell Perfect for many conditions. Blocks wind but is breathable enough to not overheat. I've been wearing it all of spring time, excited to see how it performs in the summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent lightweight shell I love the Anorak. It's wind resistant and breathable enough to be worn comfortably on its own between 40-60 F. It can also be used for layering. The fabric is nice and stretchy while also being durable. The pockets are really useful as well. I can fit all kinds of snacks in the kangaroo pocket, and stick my hands in the hand warmer pockets if I don't know what to do with my hands at the time. Looks great as both a technical and casual piece. As far as sizing goes, I'm 5'7, 180 lbs, muscular build and the M fits perfect. Almost as if it was tailored for me. The blue/green color has a very 90s retro vibe. The design actually reminds me of the old Starter jackets I had when I was a kid, but obviously less bulky. I think more 90s style colors should be implemented on the Anorak. What about teal and purple? Orange and lime green? So much potential for cool retro colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super stretchy and love the kangaroo pocket I bought this to use as a light windbreaker on chilly rides home in my Jeep when the doors and top are off. I really wanted an anorak simply for the secure kangaroo pocket. I tried on the LL Bean anorak and it did not stretch at all, making it very difficult to take off. This product is advertised as stretchy and wind/water resistant. Just what I was looking for. It certainly is stretchy and will keep you dry in a quick walk from vehicle to store. As for the windproof, I think the material itself is rather wind resistant, but the serious draw back that is very specific to my application is the pass through pocket uses one snap on each side of the pocket to keep it closed. When driving, wind gets right in there and I look like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. The arms flap around and I can feel air movement inside the anarok. If the sides of the main pouch were zippers, this would significantly help. It's an excellent lightweight outer layer otherwise. I've used it for hiking in the early morning when it's still a little chilly and for travel. Packs down pretty small, so easy to put away when things warm up. Improvements I would like to see: Zippers on the front pass through-pouch and possibly pit zips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes the chill... ...off of those early morning springs days. And nights! Ditched another brands similar product as it didn't fit very well (and it was the right size).
