NOT improved!!!Sad to have to write this review. I've been an Outdoor Research loyalist for years, especially the Ferrosi pants. As an active 50-something, I have four pairs of them. The originals were perfect. The next "improved" version got slimmer and tighter but still fit great and I wear them constantly. Now you have "improved" them again and they fit like a teenager skinny pant. How can the same size of the same product fit so ridiculously different. Either go back to a fit that most of us can wear or I'll take my loyal business somewhere else. Good fitting pants are hard enough to find. When you nail something, stop trying to "improve" it!!!

Major bummer - new and not improved.I own 5 pairs of these paints. Both of the two New models fit too tightly in the same size ordered the previous years model. Last years front left and right pocket were cut so you could easily place your hand or any item into the pockets. The new model pockets top load and are tight and difficult to place your hands in. Perhaps this is supposed to be a feature but for me I greatly dislike it. The leg cuff adjustment piece is unintuitive, cheap, and a disappointment. Overall I'm disappointed that my favorite pants are no longer comfortable. I may try to exchange one of the two new pairs for a size up but I'm not sure I will bother. These pants used to be outrageously comfortable. The same pants in the same size in the new version are not at all.

2022 is finally the yearEvery year, OR makes updates to the Ferrosi. I haven't found a version I've liked in many years. However, this year, they finally have all the details right: pockets of the right depth, a new and low-profile ankle cinch, a variety of colors, and of course the standard fit that works for those who have a bit more upper leg muscle without being too tight like the Equinox. I haven't tested for durability yet to see if pilling will still be an issue over time with the Ferrosi fabric. However, glissading on not-quite-soft snow in the past has proved to me that the Ferrosi fabric can withstand a decent amount of abrasion.

Extremely baggy, longer than advertised inseam. While these pants are light and breathable, they are ridiculously baggy. Looks nothing like the product photos unless the model has calves like tree trunks, and they're not visibly cinched. They're also longer than the advertised 30" inseam, causing them to bunch up significantly. I was hoping these would be a pair I could wear to the office and on the trails like my Zions, but they look like sweatpants, so I'll likely be returning them. For reference, I'm 5'10" and 150 lbs and ordered the 30x30 in Pewter.

Sizing completely changed from prior modelsI own six pairs of Ferossi pants and have been wearing them for 4+. This years model is drastically smaller than previous years. When holding them up and comparing them to pants I purchased last year, the same size pants are almost 3" smaller in the waste.

Poor sizing is a deal breakerRead a few of the reviews talking about how it ran long, but I still decided to give the Ferrosi pants a try since they were on sale. As it turns out, the reviews were right. I can't speak for the other inseam lengths, but the 30 in. inseam definitely runs longer than other hiking pants I've bought from comparable brands. My only issue is with the sizing as everything else about the pants seems great. I'll have to return these, but if OR ever decides to release a 28 in. inseam, I'll be one of the first to buy it.

Updates are great, but change in sizing change very puzzlingThese are the best outdoor pants and shorts. The newest generation has some great features - zip rear pocket, new drawstring, etc. But why totally change the sizing? It's 1.5 to 2x sizes smaller in the waist and now cut tight in the seat. Very puzzling to not keep basic sizing constant.

Best Ferrosi yet butBest Ferrosi yet in terms of design, the thigh pocket is finally the right depth and doesn't have the raised fabric of the previous version and the ankle cinches are much improved. These are my do everything pants in warmer weather, nothing beats them for the mix of breathability and durability. The only problem is the sizing is off, it's one maybe two sizes smaller in the waist than previous versions.
