Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy it again. Fit for purpose. I am a Panama Canal Pilot. While conning large vessels thru the locks of the Panama Canal, I must be on the bridge wing regardless of weather conditions. Tropical squalls and downpours are an everyday occurrence. I use this jacket as professional gear while climbing aboard using a pilot ladder. The fit does not restrict arm movement. It keeps you dry very well I like that it's lightweight and packs small. While not in use, it's neatly stowed very tight in a ziplock bag. maybe the heat inside the gear suitcase, tropical humidity, and temperature shifts degrade the glue of the seams after 2-3 years of use. The OR outlasted an Arc'teryx I had.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wetted out in one minute What a bummer! Love the style and weight of this jacket, superior windproofing as well. But on the trail, it failed me miserably. Totally soaked through after only a minute of moderate rain conditions. Figured it was a fluke until I ran into another hiker with the same Foray II jacket--same problem. His companions, in old Marmot duds, were dry as a bone. OR has great customer service so a full refund is on its way... but be warned!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weird sizing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, it's a good jacket. Sizing is odd though. I'm 6'2" 205lbs and not really all that muscular. I bought a large and the chest is tight but the sleeves are baggy with a good length. I'm curious as to what they sized this for. The selling point is the Gore Tex. I doubt I'll ever where this poncho style but put zips are a must. The hood has good adjustability with out being unnecessary baggy. So far, I've worn it in some pretty good downpours but not for an extended time and it showed no signs of leaks. Gore Tex has held up on my motorcycle gear during some good rainstorms at highway speeds so I expect this to perform similarly. All this said, I'd buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite do-it-all Jacket I use this product on almost a daily basis in New England. It is an awesome rainjacket, but I also use it to layer, right now I am using it with a columbia fleece and it does great in 40 degree weather, however for winter I will be layering it on top of a Coldfront Jacket. It is breathable and waterproof(have to love the Gor Tex). The only "complaint" I could think of is I think it would be better off with large zippers as I will be using it with gloves soon. Great for summer rain and so far winter squalls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for great jacket Light, packable, breathable, water proof and wind resistant. Will keep up with you on those high-spirited climbs in all conditions when you need the protection. Comfortable for wear in many conditions and gives you the light protection you need when you need it, though it can handle the water just fine. You cannot go wrong with this jacket. To top it all off, you can't beat the infinite guarantee or OR's customer service to back it up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so GREAT I've only had the jacket for a short while (a few weeks) and it's well constructed and looks/feels like it will last. I like the side zip venting and the hood cinch elastic. One of my problems with other rain jackets is that the hoods don't turn with your head and are prone to over heating. Neither problems with this jacket! Fits true to size. I'm 6ft tall and weigh 175. I ordered the medium and can fit a thin hoodie/sweatshirt under it snuggly. I rated it at 4 stars only because I haven't had the jacket long enough to truly test its durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stay Cool when it is Cool I forever become hot when hauling a pack up to elevation and it does not matter if it is raining or snowing. Enter the Foray II jacket with pit zips that open all the way down to the hem. Now I can stay dry and cool with real honest to goodness ventilation. Thank you OR!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poncho Like Feature I have not used this yet. I am taking it on an Alaska trip. I shall see if it meets my expectations. It is light, water proof and easily packed. I wanted the "poncho" style capability because I quickly get overheated as I hike and get wet from sweat on the inside, so I like lots of ventilation. I originally ordered a Medium Mens and found it too tight around the chest. I have ordered other OR jackets in Medium and they fit fine: had to go to a large for the Foray II. I kept the medium one, gave it to my wife and it fits my wife much better. I ordered a large and it fits fine. I am 5 foot 9 inches and 165 pounds.
